It was so weird watching it on TV the day it happened... It was durring my bio class, we went into the halls in between periods, and everyone was talking about how the towers had been hit, and I didn't know what they were talking about, and then we watched it, and I still couldn't believe it... I STILL can't believe it... It's sort of odd, I mean, once you know a place well enough and it sort of infuses itself into your mind, and then it's not there anymore, but it doesn't feel like it's not there anymore... So odd... But anyway, there were so many kids at my school whose parents worked there, so many kids kept getting phone messages not to worry because their parents were alright... Unfortunately not everyone's parents were alright. I know so many people who lost family members...

my uncle would have been in there, he was the boss of about 25 people who died in the towers. it was pure luck he wasn't there that morning. he was across the jersey river. he saw the entire thing happen from that standpoint. he was a millionaire up until that day and then his stocks dropped and of course his crew all perished, so he's not anywhere near as wealthy anymore. he travels the world but can't go to china now because of sars.

james, at least you now know that it was foolish to say, "cool". people react to things like that very strangely sometimes. it takes a big person to admit they were wrong.

i know lots and lots of stories of people whose parents didn't go there...when i first heard about it no one told me the real impact-i've never been to the WTC-didn't know it was the Twin Towers (bad bad new yorker I know) but I wasn't worried too much cause no one I knew was there besides morgans father. I was very wrong-a few days later a funeral and memorials and last 9/11 more memorials.
