Just wanted to say to everyone, esp. those of the North American continent to stay as safe as you can when this maddness starts. Try to check in as often as you can, esp. if something (touch wood) DOES happen, just so we know you are alive and well. Take care ppl.

thanks for that but lets hope the madness never starts. But anyway, the first thing going will be the nuclear power plant and in that case ny city will be gone and so will I (unless I'm in Germany at the time).

Overall, I can't believe that we are going to war. What are the reasons? I don't see any reasons to bomb baghdad (which is what I keep hearing we are pushing to do). Why destroy the only major semi-industrial city in Iraq? Why not just tell them to go back to the stoneage so less people die that way. Oh well...life is never simple.

Thanks for the concern Lawgoddess! But I worry about Israel too, Saddam will probably attack them like he did during the first Gulf War.

lol at gwen's "I can't believe that we are going to war"...
That's kind of an obvious statement for the majority of the world... Oh well, too late now!

Can't we all just get along—

The sad truth is probably no.

Will people ever learn that war is BAD— No, probably not.

You shouldn't be surprised we're going to war, that was pretty much a given since Bush was elected. It's cause he's from Texas, and he wants to have a shoot out at high noon.

I think the world wide protests against the war show that ppl are uniting in the fact that war is bad! A pity the governments don't listen..lol. But who knows what will happen. After WWII, they said that was the war to end all wars..we didn't learn then, so why should now be any different? But maybe, MAYBE the pressure of the people will eventually stick..and ALL nations will go down a more diplomatic route rather than an aggressive one.

They said that WWI was the war to end all wars, and twenty years later, look we have an even bigger world war.

Nah, I think it's human nature to war. I think people have to evolve a little more before diplomacy will work as a solution, either that or be a lot more accepting of differences, a lot less nationalistic and more united as a planetary whole, and a lot more patient.
