In the uk there is a bit of an uproar at the moment as halal meat is making it's way into the food manufacturing chain without anyone labelling it for the public to realise.
There are certain groups of society who say the practice of Halal meat preparation is akin to animal cruelty but for other groups there are deep religious reasons behind the importance of consuming meat prepared in this way... So is it about rights and wrongs.. or public choice?

Tbh meat that isn't halal is killed just as cruelly, so I don't see why there is a sudden uproar.

"Animals killed halal (according to Islamic law) cannot be stunned before their throats are cut, which means that many animals—including the cow shown in this video—fight and gasp for their last breath, struggling to stand while the blood drains from their necks."

I couldn't give a fuck how the meat is prepared as long as it tastes good.

Lol at the racism hiding behind animal cruelty. You don't give a fuck about the animals you pussy, if you did, you would be a veggie.

Well that's you, my little machisto wannabe. I may not give a fuck about Molly bc we never cuddled, but I sure as hell care about how she ended up on my plate. And racism would require of me to refer to a certain race, not religion. Religion is not a race.

I have family members who've been muslims all their lives and even ate pork in their home country, but when they came to Sweden they suddenly started making all these new demands. Why? Because they can. Because Swedes are pussies and will take it up the ass from every new branch of immigrants or else the politicians are labelled as "racists" by those who reason like yourself.

Have you ever watched pigs being stunned, after being dragged and kicked into a small room so it can't escape? Then as it writhes on the ground, it is hauled into boiling water as it is still living, only to be shaved and gutted?

But efficiently slitting an animal's throat to cause instant death is in humane.

I don't know where you live, but where I live that is NOT common practice. In fact we've had two incidentes where the pigs were ACCIDENTLY scalded while conscious and it was made a big deal of here bc that's obviousely not how it's done! So let's seperate the following of proper procedures, from human error or simply being half-assed about it when no one's watching.

Hmm, industrialized animal cruelty in present day Europe just to satisfy a bunch of reactionary refugees in the name of Allah? I swear, some of these Muslim immigrants seem to think the Sun revolves around them. The way I see it-- ADAPT to your new home, go veggie or ship out!

Ugh, can you just tell my blood is boiling?

Explain where exactly you are reasoning? 😄

Religion is not a race. And last time I checked there has been a seperation of the "Church" and State, at least where I live, so don't bother me or the State with your religious customs outside your own home or place of worship. What it boils down to regardless of where you stand on the topic, is that halal is about religious customs, not about actually making it easier on the animals. It's enough we have to deal with the profit aspect of the meat industry!

Lol your double standards, sure that's uncommon? Really? Lol. You are clueless.
"Where I live that is NOT common practice"
How would you know?
Are you a butcher? Stop this shit talk, you hate a whole sect of people based on the actions of a few. That makes you a cunt. An easily manipulated cunt too.

Because I know how the procedure goes. I cannot however be sure that the procedure is ethically followed, that's a different issue altogether! I do however know that it's not considered "common procedure" to stick a blade in the unstunned animal's throat and let it bleed to death. See the difference?

So 100 years ago your ancestors were immoral bastards for the way they killed animals huh? Heck even 40 years ago as your on that side of Europe. I mean how else were animals killed before the very recent use of stun machines. Lol are you seriously unable to see how ridiculous this whole issue is?

I'd like to think we've made some progress in the last 100 years, yes. That's the whole point. And it's not a question of morals, but ethics. Seems you got both your panties and definitions in a twist. This is about a whole killing- industry that deals in meat, and not about single-handed farmers slaughtering their lifestock . Huge difference.

I'd like to think we treat animals humanely because we feel it's the right and ethical thing to do at this point in time, and not because " God tells us".

Apperantly God feels that eating pork is wrong too in some religions, regardless if it's supported in the source material or not, my point is religious customs alone should not dictate how we treat and kill animals. Religion shouldn't have anything to do with it! There much more to be said and quoted on the subject but I'm on my phone and it would take all night. I may or may not get back to this in a couple of days when I get to my laptop. =)

Again, I don't get the beef (PUN INTENDED! 😆 ) If the procedure is best and it "just so happens" to be religious, what's the problem? What should we base in on, then? Because history shows that when humans are left to their own devices we make such great choices. -.-

Remember how mom used to tell us to eat veggies, and we did so because she told us, not because we wanted to on our own? But now that we are wiser, we understand WHY, and so we happily do it on our own? It's EXACTLY like that when it comes to religion.

... which is why we have the National Food Agency* so we don't have to rely on religion! Welcome to the 21th Century. Are we even having this discussion?! Obviousely you have a dog in this fight... 😉
