I was watching a show about this on The History Channel earlier. Does anybody here know exactly how the bible code is done. They had several mathematitions (sp?) on there (mostly Jewish) who were convinced that the bible code could predict future events. The only opponent of it was an Australian guy who said that he used this same code on a Hebrew translation of "Moby Dick". I'm also pretty skeptical of the bible code myself. Why can't they use this code on any other language besides Hebrew? And why would it predict pointless events like Clinton's impeachment. They compared it to Nostradamus' predictions too which I also believe to be false. The people who follow Nostradamus or the Bible Code never actually predict an event before it happens. The major event whatever it may be will always happen and then those people come out and are like "AHA" or "told you so". But it does predict that the end of the world will happen in 2012 which is coincidently the same year that the ancient Mayans predict is going to end.

Any other opinions? I would also like to know how it's done if anyone here happens to know I couldn't find anything on the Web.

Here is some suggestions.

The Bible Code is the title of a book by Michael Drosnin in which he claims that there is a code embedded in the Bible by God.

The code is revealed by searching for equidistant letter sequences (ELS). The code is called the Bible Code or the Torah Code.

Now? how many times this bible was re-written.. and how many times bible got translated from or to many languages.. beside.. bible is not brought to us by GOD? its is spoken word written by ordinary people.. so what is the secret we are looking for..??

Only people with their Cabala stuff and numerology (Jewish people) hunting for those stuff for ages..

?Dr. Eliyahu Rips, one of the authors of the study that started the Bible Code craze, has also made a public statement regarding Drosnin's Bible Code.

I do not support Mr. Drosnin's work on the Codes, nor the conclusions he derives....All attempts to extract messages from Torah codes, or to make predictions based on them, are futile and are of no value. This is not only my own opinion, but the opinion of every scientist who has been involved in serious Codes research.?

Or

Rosenberg. Gans says that:

Book states that the codes in the Torah can be used to predict future events. This is absolutely unfounded. There is no scientific or mathematical basis for such a statement, and the reasoning used to come to such a conclusion in the book is logically flawed. While it is true that some historical events have been shown to be encoded in the Book of Genesis in certain configurations, it is absolutely not true that every similar configuration of "encoded" words necessarily represents a potential historical event. In fact, quite the opposite is true: most such configurations will be quite random and are expected to occur in any text of sufficient length. Mr. Drosnin states that his "prediction" of the assassination of Prime Minister Rabin is "proof" that the "Bible Code" can be used to predict the future. A single success, regardless of how spectacular, or even several such "successful" predictions proves absolutely nothing unless the predictions are made and evaluated under carefully controlled conditions. Any respectable scientist knows that "anecdotal" evidence never proves anythin

In my humble opinion.. there is no predictions not any other things on those books.. if you ask me I don?t even believe on those written words of (holy books) because they are written by humans not GOD?

Go figure.. what GOD words is? its not on those holy books..

Thanks for those links, Qbone. I especially thought that the second link was interesting towards the bottom where it said that in Hebrew vowels aren't written out so they have to insert there own. If that really is the case I don't know why anyone would take the bible code seriously.

Hebrew may be God's favorite language. But, English is Bigfoot's favorite language! That's right, some lady in my state says that bigfoot visits home every now and then to borrow some stuff and he apparently speaks perfect English. Bigfoot probably speaks better English than most Americans.
