okay, xp (advanced) is my current windows os, which i am very happy with, however, i'm also a sentimental fool, who still misses a few things about my old win/98..

-i know you can minimize, but remember the days when you could grab the ends of your pages and manipulate them any size you wanted. Came in handy.

-Favorites used to be in alphabetical order; why are they not anymore? So much harder to find things now.

-all the interesting text fonts from 98 are gone. I think all fonts should stay consistent with all windows os..*more is great, but please don't delete the good ones.

-i also miss my IE icon on my tool-bar/desk-top.

Other then that, i could never go back..! 🙂

Speaking of wished-for consistency, here's a small statistic on most popular screen resolutions from June 2005: (the most current i could find) With that said more users are switching to LCD widescreens for their desk-top.
1. 1024 x 768 @ 57.38% (my current resolution)
2. 800 x 600 @ 18.23%
3. 1280 x 1024 @ 14.18%
4. 1152 x 864 @ 4.95%
5. 1600 x 1200 @ 1.67%
6. 1280 x 800 @ 1.56%
7. 1600 x 1024

Open up your browser click on favourite/then right click and chose sort after names (or something similar).

Voila...

There are billions of freely available fonts on the net pick some and install it/execute it on to OS drive like C:\WINNT\Fonts. Bear in mind the more fonts you install into your OS the slower your computer will get especially on start-up!.

And please don't miss the stupid Win98 and ME.... win 95 was actually much better than 98 win 2000 should have been win 98 and win xp should have been win 2k..

And now the horrid Vista...!

You are very welcome.

I am not sure about the Vista OS (basically a 64 bit version of XP in new design) and I probably will never going to use it privately (it is still on test stages) and it has a lot of backward compatibility problems with the legacy hardware and previous 32 bits software! By the time Vista's technical problems get solved (half a way through) MS will announce another new OS and force the third party developers and the users (lab rats) to upgrade their computers ?usual monopoly business tactics?.

Those core designers/engineers in MS know exactly how to secure their jobs for the future..!
