alright, i need to know if anyone else here have a religion (and would consider themselves quite religious) but still have a fascination and curiousity for astrology?
ok, im Christian, and ive read somewhere that astrology is connected to christianity in a way...with the whole pisces thing symbolizing the fish ie. Christ and how the three wise men-star yadda yad dating back to something century.
so...is astrology considered sinful (like...oooo...you're 'worshipping the devil'), that i should choose one or the other. i mean is astrology even considered a religion? what do you think?

Read this and interpret it for yourself but you'll probably see the relation. I do and I'm not even Christian..but I love these 2 pages, both astrology and the bible are so connected here:

(This is GOOD! Read about your sign here and how it relates. Scorpio is represented both as the Death Rider, AND the 'Strong One' - The Pure Rider - both spoken of in The Book of Revelations.)

(This one is direct and informative)

'Yes, religions use whatever they can to control people, so yeah, it's linked.'

I used to interpret it that way too, but I think that's just an error of interpretation on our parts. That's the way Religion can make us feel, I don't believe that it's the intent however. Some just aren't made to commit to any specific Way of Life - some like to be more reticent and reserved rather than dive with blind faith into any religion. If that's not a legitimate feeling, then I don't know what is.

"Every day I meet young people whose disappointment with the church has turned into outright disgust." - Dr. MLK Jr.

^^ It happens..it's only human.

Okay see okay, there you go! I kid of expected that from you brahn, opionated thinkers are pretty productive. Where's truevenusian? I know she's a Christian and she also studies Astrology closely.

As for Astrology being a pseudo-science, I can realte a little to that thought. Astrology to me is more like a Philosophy, not really scientifically logical, but definitely relative. Astrology teaches me that there IS a rhythm between the Universe's macrocosms and microcosms and that humans are a part of it.

All religions try to control you,it's not sinful at all to read up or be okay with others religions first off.Especially when it comes to christianity,it's a mesh of alot of other religions, the only differance is the smaller gods are now "angels" in the bible. You well find a very similar story to the "noahs arh/flood" part in gilgamesh for one example. The next time someone bugs you about it remind them that they aren't god to be the judge of evil or innocent to say who's going to hell.Just "God" is in the bible it doesn't say which one, jehovah is christians gods name so no that doesn't say thier religion is right and others are wrong even if they were to get out the ten commandments.Astrology originated in greece and roman ancient religions anymore it's just fun not a religion.

And yes being as im not christain, jewish, muslim or atheist,I am a "pagan",I would be considered to follow native american beliefs more than anything else due to the fact that it is more logical, freer, fair and sees the bigger picture which other religions fall short of,although I still don't follow it devotly. The biggest and most important belief is that you should live with the earth rather than just on it,theres only one use it but still take care to not overdo it-true both logically and spiritually being as "god" is everywhere and in everything. Some of the constition of the us was based on those beliefs. The astrology thing I always say that because it was there that the discovery of the planets were made so I think they may have been toying around with it first and there has to be a certain number of devoted followers to make it a religion which as this astrology goes yeah,it probably would be a religion but noones pushed for it to be one.

As far as my personal opinion on astrology goes those traits are a part of everyone at one point or another
so it's not too good to view it religiously, when ever talking about signs I just use examples of people I know who happen to be born under the sign.Personal experiances not because of what it says in a book so I don't excuse alot either being a starsign based thing unless im joking, answering a question or something.I don't even know what signs about 75% of people I know are.I know pisces, aquas and libras seem to be everywhere for me of the ones I do know of.

I am a Christian and don't believe in astrology in terms of deciding the future. But people in my perspective have related to their sunsigns so much that I can't deny that birthdate does have influence on one's personality. I mean so many people deny it, but all of us can't because we have seen how they do strangely depict our natures to some extent. I pray that God will reveal to me why this is so someday, but until I put my entire in Jesus Christ, the Savior of my soul. Astrology is a religion if you make it to be...if you base your life on it. I don't consider my thinking about how people relate to their sunsigns as any religion, but rather a phenomena I can't understand. The Bible says the stars are like rubble and those who devote their lives to them are wasting their time. So, no, God does not advocate astrology and He and astrology do not go hand in hand contrary to what people may claim. This is what I believe.

Here's what the Bible says:

"Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, show unto the king; but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries. He has shown King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in days to come. Your dream and the visions that passed through your mind as you lay on your bed are these... (Daniel 2:27-28)"

And when you look up to the sky and see the sun, the moon and the stars--all the heavenly array--do not be enticed into bowing down to them and worshiping things the LORD your God has apportioned to all the nations under heaven. (Deuteronomy 4:19)

"Keep on, then, with your magic spells and with your many sorceries, which you have labored at since childhood. Perhaps you will succeed, perhaps you will cause terror. All the counsel you have received has only worn you out! Let your astrologers come forward, those stargazers who make predictions month by month, let them save you from what is coming upon you. Surely they are like stubble; the fire will burn them up. They cannot even save themselves from the power of the flame. Here are no coals to warm anyone; here is no fire to sit by. That is all they can do for you-- these you have labored with and trafficked with since childhood. Each of them goes on in his error; there is not one that can save you. (Isaiah 47:12-15)
