Are you in this story, too?

Hook was not his real name, of course. It was more descriptive of
his condition.

The author wrote that to reveal who he really was would set the
world ablaze and Hook was vulnerable to anyone who knew his
true identity...

...and the only one who knew his true identity was Peter Pan,
who also cut off his hand.

While he should have been out plundering, pillaging and seeking
treasure, he was trapped in Neverland, trying to kill Peter Pan,

all along followed by the crocodile who ate his hand and decided
he liked it so much, he wanted the rest of him. Thankfully, the
croc also swallowed a clock, and its ticking alerts Hook to the
danger approaching. The stress of hearing it is almost too much.

Hook wears a big iron hook in place of his hand which was lost
at the hands of Peter Pan.

====================

Peter Pan was Hook's inner child, his conscience, his goodness,
his purity
the very thing that kept him from being all the pirate he could be.

And of course, there was Peter's "bad form" - a departure from
all the stiff, reserved, quiet control - the unthinkable desire
to be crowing - to let loose - to be "free" ...and fly.

Often Peter would be the thing that would cause Hook to reach out
and help someone, sacrificing his own time, dedicating himself
100% to their cause, even at the loss of great opportunity for
himself and even putting himself at great risk and into peril.

And many times, people even balked at the help and cut off
the well-intended hand that was reaching out to them.

Wendy loved Peter, but for a moment, Hook enchanted her.

She just didn't know why. Hook was very misunderstood.

Meanwhile, that croc was time itself, waiting to eat up the
rest of Hook, as the years rolled by with him trapped in Neverland,
where he never did for himself, but always for others.

Though Peter Pan was Hook's favorite part of himself and he
unconsciously bungled his capture and execution many times,
this is why Hook needed to make Peter Pan walk the plank,
even if it was the last thing Hook ever saw to
and he would be sad to see him go.

But Hook was an extremist, there could be no in-between.
All or nothing, black or white ...you know the rest.
What a shame ... Pan would have killed Hook in the end
if Hook did not do him in first.
