Yep, the honeybees are suffering from a mysterious case of Colony Collapse Disorder. As I understand it, they're having difficulty finding their colonies, as well as becoming confused about its order and their specific jobs.
So, if you happen to see one, please try to avoid swatting it with an old newspaper. 🙂
i LOVE bumble bees. there are loads in spain cos they like their honey in this country. they are also not agressive like wasps and will only sting if they are threatened - and then they die 😢
my mother always told me to pretend i was a flower if a bee was buzzing around me and as a result, i have never been stung.
isn't it amazing how dependent we are on such a tiny insect?
Kind of reminds me of aquatic-life; when whales, dophins, etc get their sonars confused and end up washed up on shore or swimming alone. very sad ..hope the honey bees are able to adjust or re-orientate themselves.. It is odd.
