Enamored with Scorpio man for six years,

I need some insight!

There's been a lot of push-pull, neither of us truly revealing our feelings, past hookups and one moment in all of those years where he allowed himself to open up to me. But he shut that door quickly when I didn't respond to his vulnerable question because I had fallen asleep -- he'd asked me to ask him something personal. That was super out of the norm, for him and for Scorpios if you know them well lol they don't just want you to know about them.
I felt so bad that I fell asleep before I could answer, but he didn't ever seem to want me to ask about his past again, because he may have felt rejected. We still talk about personal trials and tribulations that we're currently dealing with, but he hasn't wanted to go any deeper into his past since that night I didn't respond to a personal question. And from there on out kept it light and breezy, always finding a way to come in and out of my life, and always slipping in something sexual or trying to hit on me. I'm just summarizing.
Anyway, we've started texting again as friends and I drew a boundary on the sexual talk a little while back.I thought he got the hint. But clearly he didn't, because he started flirting again. My question is, why can't he just be my friend and not try to hit on me every time we talk? He has plenty of other girls to mess with. Is it just a Scorpio thing? Or will he always think of me in an intimate way since we have a sexual, personal sort of past?

I'm an Aries/Taurus, btw. Extremely stubborn lol not sure how that works with a Scorpio.

Because I don't feel as though he respects me; but I'm still confused there. He loves to tell me that he does and that he considers me such a good friend that he trusts, but than acts so aloof and unaffected. So it's easy to be confused with him, on what to trust. He could just be a manipulator.

run. aries and scorps in the long run=disaster. Scorps give me a headache after five seconds. Just move on, he just wanted to smash.
