Thanks, E.

It's a Universal "stove top" percolator coffee pot.
It's earliest date of manufacture is 1907 with patent dates as far back as 1894.
In those days, coffee was commonly boiled in a pot. Then in the late 1800s the percolator
was perfected further. Keep in mind that 100 years ago, electricity in the home was still
quite a luxury. Many either had oil lamps or candles. Like the expansion of the American
Railroad across the US, electricity and gas would slowly creep across the land. There
are many places, in the US, the Amish, aside, where people still live like our forebears
had done in the days of old.

That old stovetop coffee pot would have been much appreciated cooking tool in those opening years
of the 20th century. But.... the stovetop design would be welcomed even today and tomorrow,
as well. Electricty still has the potential to be lost. H.G. Wells' Time Machine comes to mind.
You don't need electricity for that pot. Heat, yes, electricity no.
It would be the domestic (home) counterpart of the pots typically used on cattle drives, the railroad
ships, everywhere that silver wealth didn't shine, up to that time. You might find it on one of these.

"Just wanted to let you all know that I have just purchased my burial urn, today.
When I die, please, enjoy a slice of hot apple pie and a hot cup of the strongest blackest coffee you ever tasted in you life..... on me.
And one more............ for the road."

I read this sipping coffee and when a warm slice of apple pie crosses my lips I'll think of you 😉
You have inspired me to look for something unique in an antique shop. Not the fake antique shops either, the old barn type that hold the real treasures.
