His behavior with me right before the surgery itself was interesting. I'm there in glasses, a robe, my hair askew..and he has his arm around me saying How beautiful I looked....After surgery, he also called me several times at home from his cell before leaving on vacation, to check on me. He always calls after hours from his personal cell. But again, we just had a personal conversation mostly..
I decided before my last visit to him that I wanted to see if he would be interested in pursuing a friendship after our doctor/patient relationship concluded. My hope was to get to know him as a friend and possibly date romantically.
On the last visit, he walked into the room and noticed I had changed my hair style , said he liked it and told me I looked pretty. He examined me, then we settled in for our usual chat. One night he called me while on an overnight shift. I asked him if he would like to go to dinner sometime. He responded with strange nervous laughter (strange considering his usually serious personality) and said he could go somewhere near his hospital one night, but because of his schedule it would probably be short notice. OK...
After that, I didn't hear from him for a few weeks. I feared I may have scared him off. When his birthday rolled around, I sent him a simple Happy Birthday text. To my surprise he texted back and we chatted a little. He said his work schedule has been extra crazy lately. I said I feared I scared him off with my dinner invitation. He didn't respond and just continued chatting about something else...—?
