This is going to be a classic matchup of the two most storied franchises in NBA history. Everyone is predicting The Lakeshow take this matchup in 6 games due to the recent change in the playoff format to a 2-3-2 format. I still have faith in the Celts to pull this off though. Kobe Bryant has been playing like a man possessed in these playoffs and it seems that he'll be an unstoppable force throughout. Especially since now he's finally gotten help. Although he's going to ave to go up against Boston's three headed monster in Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett. My goodness there's like nothing you can't like about these Finals! I'm excited!

Game 1 June 5, 8:30pm ET LA @ BOSTON
Game 2 June 8, 8:30pm ET LA @ BOSTON
Game 3 June 10, 8:30pm ET BOSTON @ LA
Game 4 June 12, 8:30pm ET BOSTON @ LA
Game 5* June 15, 8:30pm ET BOSTON @ LA

Don't forget about Rajon Rondo!!!

I would have loved to see the SPURS stop the LAKERS! Oh Well, my fantasy team did not prevail.

I have $ $ and total faith that the Celtics will take this one. Just a better team if you're looking at stats & complement eachother well. I just absoultely dislike Kobe and Fisher; yes I know he's the undeserving MVP of 2008; but he thinks he owns the game and doesn't respect the fact that other players can play as well as he can. I know MJ talked a lot of mess and was the NBA at one point; but at least he respected the skill that other players had...

This will be a great series to watch!

Rondo's been playing pretty well this season. Better than I expected really. I like his perimeter defense and passing abilities. He just manages to find people even though it's his first year in he league. I'm hoping he develops into a more well rounded Point in his career once he develops his outside shot. He's been hitting those open jumpers as of late during the playoffs so I see this as a positive in this series.

The Spurs... That would have been such a boring final to watch. To be honest, I'm sick and tired of watching the Spurs and Pistons play. The slowed down half-court game was appealing for a while but it's just so damn slow. I appreciate defense and grinding out plays but come on it's just so bleh.

After watching Game 1 I've noticed that the Lakers have no true interior presence that could matchup well with the Celts. If you wathed throughout the game, the Lakers were clearly outrebounded by a wide margin and couldn't get any opportunities to score in the post at all. They seemed to rely on the pick and roll with Kobe and Gasol to get points in the paint. But soon after the first half ended the elts managed to overload the defence and forced them to collapse on the roll man negating the pick and roll with Gasol. After watching pierce come back from injury also boosted the teams morale and then you just knew it was over after he hit those two consecutive treys. The Lakers also just plain failed to execute in the fourth quarter. What was the deal with Phil Jackson benching Kobe for the last 8 minutes of the 4th? It was an odd play because he could have made the game a lot closer than it was. Especially sicne Cassell was chucking up bricks. That's not to say that the Celtic defense practically contained him for 4 quarters. I'm kind of surprised he missed so many gimmes though.

Chris Paul should have won the MVP. 'Nuff said.

As for Jordan. He's Mike. There's nothing bad you can actually say about him on court because even though he was a complete ass to management and his teammates in the end he was right for being one. The man transcended basketball.

I'm a big a Celtic Homer as any other but wow... Game 2 was horrible. The Celts won but the officiating was terrible. The referees kept calling no calls on the Lakers all game and the Celts got away with a lot too. I'm all for the Celtics winning but please not at the expense of the integrity of the game. What was the deal with the 3rd quarter collapse too!?!??! This is why you don't play to the score in professional sports. The minute you let complacency settle in you lose games. I expect more from them next game. All in all they managed not to blow the lead and win the game. Rondo had another stellar game too dishing into double digits in the assists category and Pierce brought it even though his knee was hampering him. It was nice seeing Ray Allen knock down shots on a consistent basis too. I especially can't forget about Leon Powe. LEON POWE! Career high 21 pts. in the playoffs. The Celtics bench outscored the Lakers bench throughout the entire game and that was all because of Leon Powe! The last few seconds in the game were even more confusing. I'm still shocked Kobe never got the ball in the last what? 20 seconds of the game. It's going to be tough though now because The Celts have to pull out at least one win at the Staples Center to stay in the driver's seat. BEAT LA! BEAT LA! BEAT LA!

I agree with you completely BigD that KG should be getting a ring. He's practically done everything and is on his way to the HOF and has no ring to show for it. He's one of the main reasons why Iw ant to Celts to win. Other than Iverson, I think KG deserves a championship. He comes in day in and day out and plays the game the way it should be played.

I'm also pretty pissed that the Celts lost yesterday... No Game Wrap up from me today.

Also there's been allegations being made by Tim Donaghy that the NBA's being rigged especially in the playoffs so that all the series' go to game 7s so that the owners and corporations can cash in on revenue from ticket sales and merchandise.

WOW WHAT A FUCKING COMEBACK BY THE CELTICS!!!!!!!!!! That was amazing how they came back from an 18 point deficit and just pull out a win like that. The Celtics came back and made Finals history by coming back from what could have been a blowout. One of the biggest collapses in the Finals by the Lakers also. Kobe Bryant just plain choked last night and it showed. Sure he had 9 assists but still he just choked. Eddie House played a pivotal role in that win draining whatever shots he could and cutting that huge lead down to a workable margin. Paul Pierce played an impeccable defensive game and held Kobe at bay. Ray Allen really stepped up to the plate with probably the most important bucket of the night by completely blowing by Vujajic switching hands and finishing left avoiding the rolling Gasol. The Celtics just didn't give up that game and sucked it up to pull out a crucial win to gain a stranglehold in the series. The series is now 3-1 and game 5 will be in LA. BEAT LA! BEAT LA! BEAT LA!
