EEE and others, let's continue here. I think we've hijaked Vircan's thread long enough.
Mental Health, Astrology, Charlie, etc, etc...
—That's a good question !
For me I'd have to go with this excerpt though,as in there's no real 'ego death', more the paradox it would create and anyone who did defend staunchly the idea that they have, regardless of the why, would be an example of some mental illness really. Plus I like my ego, it's awesome at times !
"It can also be argued that experiencing ego death is not possible because an ego is a functional necessity of experience and hence experience does not occur after ego death.
It can also be viewed as a great paradox that an experience referred to as an "ego death" can lead to beliefs that the person becomes one with the universe, and that the work and history of the whole universe is concluded in the momentary experience of "self", a view which can be viewed as the result of a vastly inflated ego, similar to the common expression used for someone experiencing an "ego-trip" - "s/he think the whole world revolves around him/her". For proponents of this viewpoint, an ego death would be best achieved by accepting one's reality as mere transient human and not equate oneself to such vast and powerful entities as the universe."
I put it in the same basket as people who believe they are the light and never dark, as I see that as delusional to put it kindly. ??
Agreed as I don't know if you can actually kill the ego so to speak. More like bring it under submission? Or tame or quiet it for the purpose of a higher calling (for what other reason would someone want to kill or tame the ego if it wasn't for something greater than them?)
I think that the universe has a divine way of checking our egos for us whether it's through relations with others or some sort of situation or event. I think this is to keep us in our place and remind us that we are just small fish in a big ocean.

"Yeah, I think this new doc is more up to date and less inclined to just hand out pills, with no slight to my old doc, he does the private clinics and is all about the skrilla now as far as I can tell, fair play to him though.
I think she's more knowledgeable in that respect where as he's more measles and whooping cough I think I always like to make a nice morning 1/2 hour of it though as that's what they get paid for heh and I get to babble on for 1/2 hour or so .
Still wish I'd took his advice and invested in silver at one time though."
That's good. One should always be leery of that doc who wants to just hand out pills. That tells you alot right there.
I would reccomend therapy to anyone. Sadly, most people refuse professional help because of the 'stigma'. I've seen people go in and come out much better persons on the other side.

Yeah, with no slight to him, I think he'd tired on the local practice stuff.
They haven't mentioned therapy yet jusst some assessment in the next week or so, but fuck it I'll see what it's about if that's what they offer.🙂
Good idea. Is it free?
You guys have it made. Meds are atrociously expensive over here. I see old ladies crying all the time because they can't foot the bill. There is absolutely no reason for them to be so overpriced. We need a better health care system.
Co-pays alone can run you anywhere up to $ 100...and sometimes more. It's sickening really. I always thought the US should model their health care system off of Canada but we all know that will never happen.
Are you nervous to do therapy? What's the worst you think could happen?

Well I would think anything is pricey compared to where you live. Geez.
No, nothing really negative about it. At least not the concept of it. The only thing that could ruin a therapy session is a bad rapport between therapist and client and since you say you like the new person, shiiiiit, that's half the battle.

LOL @ nurse ratched.
Ending up with an 'asshat' can definitely makes things difficult but in that case, as the client/patient, all you need do is replace them. Here in the US you can change a doc/therapist the way you change underwear until you find one that you are completely comfortable with/trust. Does the same rule apply where you are? What's the protocol or policy for changing docs?
