Using songs to express what you can't?

Whenever we're in my car driving, Virguy hooks up his iPhone and chooses what songs to play during the drive. ....He makes fun of me bc plenty of my "jamming out" songs are actually "sad" and he considers the lyrics a lot regardless of the tempo/genre/rhythm of the song, whereas I gauge some of my "sad" jamming out songs based on tempo/rhythm/musical instruments and that it's associated with a good memory. ...So lately I've been noticing regardless if it's rap/hiphop, classic rock, oldie, alternative..I started paying more attention to the lyrics. ....And now I'm just beginning to wonder what if he might be choosing specific songs as an indirect way to let me know what he thinks of me since he's not very good at communicating emotions / expressing affection, thus the music he plays when it's just me and him are an outlet for unspoken things?

And he will just quietly sit there on the passenger seat smoking his cig. (That actually makes me feel like I'm in his little world or was granted partial access for the moment.)

I actually think you might be right. I'm not ashamed to say I've done this but only with a person I REALLY like but just can't say how I feel. I am shy that way. I love music though so for me it is a way to show my feelings or mood without actually putting it out there.

Here's a test for you to see. Pick out a song that says how you feel. Play it when in the car and just comment on it. Something like "I really like this song & the lyrics are fantastic". Then see if it becomes part of the "playlist". You'll know then. For me I analyze so if that was done to me I'd have to dissect it to see. I'd look up the words to the song to see exactly what it was saying.

It seems silly, I know, but if he's a music lover then this might be exactly what he's doing. And you'll know his moods in the future by what he's playing.

O, and if I'm right, then don't call him out on it. Just put it in your noggin as a "good to know"...

Good luck.

Yep, my X does this, and i'm like wtf am i supposed to think.

We saw one another Monday after not seeing one another for like 10 months.

well it was awkward as fuk...

anyways when he was dropping me off, he started playing this kid singing this song in my language. it was a cute video, i picked up the phone from his crotch area...and watched it...

but the song was about how relationships/love is sigh how do i interpret in English...

stuck not going anywhere......hanging in the air... confirm you need me type of song.

He's done that before..when we hadn't seen one another for a while before..he would play love songs about broken relationships...lol

it's like he breaks the relationships himself so he can have the opportunity to play those songs...

rolls eyes.

maybe we're addicted to those post-relationship times.

Personally, I doubt it. Unless he has a significant amount of water in his chart. Even then, I doubt it.

Nah, he's so damn earthy....
Virgo sun.
Cap moon
Virgo mercury
Leo Venus
Gemini Mars (fml, seriously.)
Scorpio rising.

My Virgo has the same ascendant/sun/mercury plus earth moon and mars.. Yeah he's done that before.

Unless it's a meaningless pop song the music he listens to in general are songs that he can relate to or mean something to him. So if he's anything like my Virgo it could be a subliminal way of letting you know how he feels.

Ps: Why the Gemini mars hate? 😛

Correct, it's not like he plays shallow pop songs. But yeah, just thought to ask since I too am guilty of doing this and I have a moon in Virgo and I have a hard time expressing mushy shit despite being an all feeling Cancer. Songs are a wonderful outlet then.

Mars in Gemini....I am a mars in Cancer and I hate that sex is like just sex to Mars in Gemini...that's its just a mental thing. Also, my Venus in Gemini is always talking to new people/guys maybe even flirting if that's how it's taken. So for me, Mars in Gemini is the worse version bc it's sex related.
