I went for about 2 months max without solid food dozens of times. A few times it was during hunting season out in the bush with my Dad and a few times when my roomates and I couldn't pay the bills on time. All we use to feed off of was water and what were protein packets and pasty field rations. Wasn't fun for the most part but then we had to survive somehow. Brings back a lot of memories not to mention all the nightmarish diarrhea that ensued. I think the main reasoning behind why you felt more alive was because you didn't have so much crap being put in your body compared to what some of the more solid foods nowadays have in them. Even a box of slated crackers have overloaded amounts of sodium in them.

Skipping meals isn't cool man. You have to eat. I agree with you that once you get used to fasting or not feeding yourself on a regular basis it gets easier. Your mind is more prepared to go through with it. The only major factor that you have to deal with is how your body reacts to a sudden change in your diet. Crash dieting is probably one of the worst things you could do to yourself. It's a shock to the system and there's no way you can function at peak performance. Even if you think you can you're still probably running around 40-60% throughout the day even if you think you're at 100% .

I fast often, I feel better, sleep better, I'm not as impatient so I definitely can tell the difference between eating solids and eating air sandwiches d:

I do it mostly to move around my chi, sometimes my energy is just off and I'm sensitive to negative environments, so many people are energy suckers so I try to cleanse my spiritual space.

I love food but I don't have the greatest relationship with it either
