My Aqua ex...

I posted about him on DXP before but deleted my last account. We were together for two years, but on and off for the last few months of the relationship. I ended up moving on. He called me about every four months for the next year and a half seeing if I'd take him back. The calls eventually became few and far between and the last time I heard from him was New Years Eve 2007.
I did try to explain things to him when he was calling and even went out of my way to contact him to see if he'd listen. Every time I called, or emailed he'd hang up or never get back to me.
So he decides to call me this morning around 8. I mean, I don't even know what to think. I asked him why he expected me to take his random phone calls when he never took mine and he just said that talking to me made him nervous. To make things even more weird he *does* have a girlfriend who was apparently sleeping next to him during this phone call. We chatted on for about 20 minutes about what was going on in our lives. I asked how his mom was doing because she was battling Cancer the last time we did talk. She apparently beat it. He told me totaled his beloved car, and I told him my cat was doing fine. Just small talk really. Then once his girlfriend started waking up he had to go which is how I figured out he had one.
I guess what I want to know is if I should just write the phone call off, or should my defenses be up? Things with him were never this innocent. We always had this overly intense connection but the relationship wasn't healthy. Sorry for babbling on but I just have no idea what he wants.

I agree with OFA, this guy is a total clown and a disrespectful one at that, who cares why he's calling, HE'S CALLING WHILE HIS GF IS IN THE BED...Can you see?? And have you heard of let your actions SPEAK for you. IMO I highly doubt it was his girlfriend, more like a FWB so he felt no need to respect her either and called you.

He calls because he know you are stuck on him despite your attempts at moving on, he calls because the door is open like 7/11, he calls because he can and if he didn't treat you well when you were together he's not going to treat you well now, he calls because he hasn't found that one girl that will allow him to step all over her and put up with his crap for the exception of the FWB's he has linger around.

The door has been closed for a long time. I have no desire to be with him again. I've been with my current boyfriend for the past 2 1/2 years and he knows that. It's just you know, it's been over a year and he decides he can just call randomly at eight in the morning. xD It just kind of threw me through a loop. I doubt he called expecting me throw myself at him. When I walked away I was done, and obviously he did try to get me to change my mind. Thanks though everyone. 🙂
