Aquarius For Dummies

conventional astrological wisdom supposes that people who are heavily influenced by this fixed air sign implies that these people are difficult to figure out?


but is this REALLY the case?


let's look at some of the classic aqua behavior patterns and logically analyze the behavioral trends step by step (in a way that a true aquarius understands) and test my supposition to see if it is correct.



1. "I need distance/space" - typically, an aqua won't say this outright, but by their behavior, they will make their intentions quite clear.

i.e. ignoring your calls, texts, emails, whatever. they just plain old ignore you to the point that there is no denying the fact that they are ignoring you.


so okay, aquas need distance and space sometimes, but so does everyone. they key is that you must be able to intuit exactly WHY this aqua is being distant. if you are unable to intuit the reason WHY, then keep your judgements, positive or negative to yourself if you respect your relationship at all with this aquarius.


i would not reccommend an aquarius to anyone who has a low self-esteem, not to mention emotional issues...

can't hang on for the ride?


don't get on the roller coaster.

a relationship with an aquarius is a roller coaster ride, very fun and very thrilling - when they are present, that is.


in my experience, when an aqua girl has distanced herself from me, it has always been a good thing. for however long it was we did not see each other, whether 2 weeks or two months, it has ALWAYS evolved and grown for the better when we finally meet after periods of separation.


currently, i have not seen my aqua significant other for three months, but i know when i DO see her, we will probably be heading to the courthouse to get married.

three months may seem like a long time to "normal" people, but to most aquarians, they think more in terms of, "there are so many months in a lifetime."

(actually, i saw her about a month ago in the bar where we met and i was with this HOT aries chick and she was talking to the GM - some old, bald, mid-forties, irish, leo dude who has a serious crush on her and makes weak advances...pitiful guy if you ask me)


I believe we briefly made eye contact, but i pretended as i didn't see her while keeping my back turned to her the whole time while my HOT aries friend was facing her the whole time, totally oblivious to the whole situation...

needless to say, she didnt say anything to me either although i KNEW she was aware of my presence....


i left with my aries friend at last call and didn't even look back when i walked out the door...

but i must note that up until this point where i saw her randomly in the bar, i had not seen her for 2 months, so that was a little over a month ago...


a couple of weeks BEFORE that, the libra who was part of my love trapezoid snitched on me and told her that i was "hanging out with" another aquarius friend of ours (who also wanted to fuck me by the way, but i declined...we are still friends, though...i don't know if this had something to do with it, but this other aqua girl who i had on the side had been discussed by us many times and it was agreed that even i was to have sex with this other aqua girl, it wouldn't be an issue...


so i don't feel like i am doing anything wrong since i have a green light...i mean hey, if i can't get something from her, i will get it somewhere else...and i tell her this all the time...she knows this...


but at least EVERY week, almost on cue, she sends me text messages saying that she misses me and she loves me...and the ONLY other things besides me this girl misses are germany, and her family in germany...


she is actually moving back at the end of next month, so i guess most people would say that we are running out of time..

i kind of sense that she is aware of this trait in my personality, and get the feeling that she is comfortable with me because she is the same way...


the last text i got from her was on saturday and she changed her phone number and sent me the new one...i hardly doubt if she was trying to get rid of me that she would send me a new number...


on new year's when i was in nyc, i got a text from her saying, "happpy new year, Baby. i'm glad i got to know you. you'll always be part of my life. i love you. have a fun and successful upcoming new year. Love ya!! A lot...:-)"


i had just shipped her an ipod touch 16g 2g, and new red north face redpoint jacket - and she's a brunette so it will look good on her and its cut for skinny, petite girls (i prefer marmot myself, but she likes north face even though its become such trendy urban fashion wear...and she is an aqua..go figure), $ 50 gift certificate to the itunes store, 2 packs of marlboro lights (her fave cigs)and a simple card with very few words...


i have never spent so much money on gifts for one girl...but i love her and she needs the things that i bought her and i just want to help make her life a little easier...

i am not giving up on her until she is on the plane to germany...even then, i will still give her the benefit of the doubt until she tells me exactly what is going on in her head..but i won't force a discussion, i will just live my life as if she is not here as i have been doing...i will date other chicks and fuck them if i want, BUT when she chooses to return into my life physically, i will clear the table for her...she is always my FIRST option above all others...

and ladym, as far as feb 9 being the b'day of tortured souls, the love of my life is prone to deep bouts of depression and at these times, i usually don't hear from her..

when she gets depressed, she strays from her spaghetti and ketchup diet and eats CRAP and a lot of it...

i have seen her put on like 10 lbs when she is depressed, but she always snaps out of it eventually (and loses the weight too, thank god)...


i know she is only 22, and maybe these tendencies will even out with age and experience, but i get the idea that in these young years of hers, she is somewhat of a tortured soul...

her mom is a leo and from what she tells me, all of her life it has been a battle for her in terms of struggling with her mom about any and everything and she feels stifled and bothered by it...

that is why she is here in the states (she is finishing a 1 year stint as a au pair)...she wanted to break away for the first time in her life, be on her own and do WHAT SHE WANTS...

and now she is here, she will have to go back to germany and find something to do when she is there, but she doesn't know what she wants to do with her life and she will have a lot of pressure from her parents to do something...


that is her biggest complaint right now; she doesn't know what she wants to do, but she knows she wants to do something...last i checked, she is also sure she wants to marry me and have my children!


i mean as far as career wise, she is clueless..


i am older than her, not by that much, but i only found out what i TRULY wanted to do with my life when i met her...one time she said i "dream" too much, and the way she said it, with the look on her face was like she was sizing up me up complettly and totally in that moment and was thinking, "you can do so much better with yourself, and i wish you would so you can support me and we can have an extravagant life style in the future."

at that point, i woke up out my dream and decided to go back to law school...

i didnt telll her i was doing that until later, though..i wanted to surprise her and i did!

that's when we started discussing marriage and all of that, because i kind of feel that she felt i was on the right track to offer her security in the future...

and she ALWAYS acts like she wants to do things herself for the most part and be independent, but this is a girl whose favorite t-shirt reads -

either way, i find that in my experience with feb.9 aquas, confusion, which is basically NOT KNOWING is a source of torture for them because aquas simply MUST KNOW...

Aquas & Independence:

i have found in my experiences dealing with aquas that they a fiercely independent to the point they don't want to ask anyone for help..

my experience has taught me that this is due to pride more than anything else...

i have a lot of pride, as do most people, but aquas take pride to another level- to the level of stiff-neckedness...

if an aqua chooses to do something or has a particular quality about herself, she will always be firm in anything she does, or whatever qualities she possesses...

maybe firm is a bit of an understatement...


getting an aqua to budge at times can be like trying to push a mack truck that is in park...its not gonna happen...

if you see an aqua budging on something, you had better bet your bottom dollar that its only because she is doing it for you because she WANTS TO and be very glad for that if she does....make her know you are glad that she changed her mind for you...

its not often they do that (change their minds, that is)....

but is this need for independence, which sometimes totally dwarfs that of other signs totally contrived at times?

is it merely one of the many defense mechanism that aquas use in order to spare themselves from their number # 1 fear, REJECTION/failure?

ahh, yes, the aquarian need for independence as a contrived mechanism that is deliberately implemented in their lives in order to spare themselves from rejection/failure...


every aqaurius i know admittedly or not has a very strong fear of rejection or failure or both...

but as its obvious, aquarius takes this to the extreme to the point of neurosis....

sure, generally speaking, water signs are emotional basket-cases, but AIR signs...air signs are definitely prone to neuroses...

and aquas, they take mental neuroses to a whole new level in the form of SELF-FULFILLING PROPHECIES on their part...

and the re-curring self-fulfilling prophecies among aquas are quite similar and a common thread runs through all of my experiences with them...

the most common aqaurius self-fulfilling prophecy manifests itself as DISTANCE...

in the long and short of it, distance is merely a defense mechanism on their part to spare themselves from rejection in the long run...

after all, it IS better to be the dumper than the dumpee...

the point that you bring up is valid...

i would just say that in my experience, aquas like to play games, but they DON'T like being played...

you may be able to finesse them for a time, but when they realize that you have been manipulating them, i can guarantee you they will put the brakes on that immediately...


and those brakes will be ABS brakes...

not anti-lock braking system, "Aquarian Braking System"...


and the latter is much more high tech and efficient than that dumb abs bs..


realizing that you have been finessing/playing/manipulating them will signify to them that they ARE NOT the ones in control, and if an aqua doesn't have full control, that means they don't have their full freedom, so bye, bye birdie...

in all honesty, in order to get an aquarius to do something you want them to do, tell them to do the OPPOSITE or something to the effect depending on the person you are dealing with...

it is truly possible to manipulate an aquarius and doing so can be formulaic at the very least...

not to say that aquas are predictable, but they kind of are when you finally have acquired the key to their personality...(when you do acquire the key IF you ever do, DO NOT LET THEM KNOW, otherwise, they will change the locks and you will need a new key..you may never get a new one either)

i tell the love of my life all the time, "i know how to make you do what i want" and she always smiles at me with curiosity and replies, "tell me how!"

and my answer is always this:

"if i tell you, then it won't be a secret!"

i am not sure she is so comfortable with that....

but the point is, although i am aware of how to manipulate her, i won't do it...i love her too much and i don't have the heart to do that to her because i know how much she loves and needs her freedom- even if that freedom includes a life without me...

- On the part of the aquarius I would have to say a resounding YES, and this quality manifests in both genders.

aquarius men for instance are soooo depressing...

either these dudes are laying out their problems on me really thick (the more i solve them, the more they keep coming), or sleeping their assses off trying to escape from them...


these people can SLEEEEEPPPP!!!!...and when they sleep, its a form of escapism more so than most other signs...

i sleep because i like to keep myself regular and rested so i can remain youthful....

aquas sleep because they are depressed and the only form of escape they can find is in SLEEP...(aqua alcoholics aside)


and the reason these dudes are depressed most of the time is because they always have this lingering, penetrating feeling inside of them that they are NOT GOOD ENOUGH and not up to par in some way...


sure they realize their abundant strengths, but the apparent weaknesses, forget about it...those apparent and perceived weaknesses are killers to them and they can't get over themselves...


when they draw the DISTANCE/INDEPENDENCE card it is because they are FEARFUL of the other person finding out about their weaknesses.

like i said, its a defense mechanism taken to the extreme of obsessive compulsive behavior...


And as far as aquas saying, "yes" because they don't want to disappoint, in some cases this is true...

i have aqua lady friends who hang out with underdogs just because they feel sorry for them, or give hapless schlubs for guys pity dates because they feel sorry for them...

of course they won't be paying for any of this stuff, but hey, i am sure aqua ladies are more than happy to string these poor souls along for ride...

not maliciously, but simply because they need the mental stimulation and the feeling of always being in control...

aqua is a fixed sign, the last fixed sign and one thing fixed signs are obsessive about is CONTROL....


aquas are the most obsessed about control, and in keeping with that aqua obession for control, aquas are also the MOST controlled about BEING in control...

meaning that they won't become a dictator or a warden running a jail whereas another less developed fixed sign like a scorpio would...

aquas are the next to last sign, and it represents a human being (ego) which is the highest representation of ego (animal) in the zodiac (circle of a

(circle of animals)...in pisces, the ego DIES...

and i would feel bad for letting the cat out of the bag so to speak, since i know how aquas can be so hush hush about the inner workings of their psyche (whether they are aware of those inner workings or not)...a time-honored, traditional aquarius game is the one where you spill secrets about yourself and when its their turn they tell you essentially that, "that's not how the game is played!"..


basically, their attitude is "i play you, you don't play me.."

so all of their action and everything they do most of the times is done with this notion in the forefront of their minds...

as soon as an aqua feels like he/she is vulnerable to some sort of emotional pain because of a another person, they will pull away and try to do it FIRST...the way they accomplish this is by pulling away UNEXPECTEDLY and that's why i find when dealing with aquarius, especially ones of the opposite sex, it is best to have NO EXPECTATIONS WHATEVER...

no expectations that you will see her again, no expectations that she will call you, no expectations of ANYTHING...

i don't care even if i just had the most electric make-out session with the love of my life, i always treat every time i see her as the LAST TIME i will see her...

its just the game, and its a sick game that they play, but its truly not a game intended for the faint of heart...

1,978. Aquarius as The Highest Representation of the Ego in the Zodiac-


as i stated earlier, aquas, being the second to last sign and symbolizing a human being are the most developed representation of the ego of all other signs in the zodiac, including pisces for the sole reason being that the ego has completely dissolved in pisces and is therefore not a question...


as such, everything an aqua does is ME CENTERED more than any other sign...being in a relationship with an aquarius, THEIR needs must always be primary and central because that in itself is a form of CONTROL...

that is why aquas are SINGLE and LONELY most of the time because they are either so stuck on themselves and fearful of intimacy/becoming vulnerable OR they just don't feel that anyone is good enough for them (extreme narcissism) OR BOTH...

the key is to NEVER LET THEM FIND OUT...

but that is the only way you can keep them interested because with an aquarius, the game never ends...if it does, its GAMES OVER...

Everything an aquarius does is to test you...its a never-ending saga with them....

when they pull all of their notorious cards like distance/independence, etc, do NOT ask them "why?"...ACT LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED AND EVERYTHING IS NORMAL...

otherwise, they will smell weakness and you will fall to the back of the pack of her many hopeful suitors or be dropped from the competition entirely...


when they do something which is obviously meant to shock (which they will, just to get a reaction and a kick out of it - while taking notes on everything) KEEP COOL...

DO NOT REACT...

and it will only get worse because the aqua will have no other choice but to up the anty after that....i mean, if you are gonna play the game after all, you had better play to win, right?


so they will get more extreme in whatever game they are playing...if its the distance/independence game, then they will pull away for longer and longer periods...

the longer they go without getting a reaction, the longer they will try to pull away..and this game they play will never end in this lifetime so if you are gonna play to win with an aqua, you had better be soul mates and SURE that aqua is your soul mate otherwise you will be one heartbroken, disappointed soul in this lifetime, and maybe more to come..


they key is to KEEP YOUR COOL..you have to be cooler than them at all times, at all costs...that is the only way they will respect you...

i don't even ask aquarius "why?" because if i do, they will smell a weakness...i always behave as is I KNOW, whether in fact i actually do or not....

i must sincerely apologize to all of you lovely aqua ladies out there for letting the secrets out, but honestly, i would feel WORSE about it if i were an aqua (which i am not)...

but i have been there, done that, so in a way, i have a right to let the cat out of the bag...

I don't know. The longest me and my guy went without seeing eachother was a week and that was because of the saying I love you fiasco lol. Early in our relationship I stopped seeing him for about three months because I just didn't have time to nurture a new relationship -id just gotten out of an old one, I was still in school and trying to move while being stalked. I put him on hold. I'm so glad he waited despite it all. He even understood when it took him a year to meet my boys. He was a friend when I really needed one- And much more when I wanted more. I don't know. I just don't see the cold and distant thing that is said of aqua men.space is cool. I love my space 🙂

honeypot, i was more so speaking of aqua ladies being distant more so than the men...

the men can be distant, but from the many experiences my aqua friends have shared with me, they are only distant when they are pretty much done with you or not interested..

aqua men in my experience don't use distance as a trump card, or even a regular game card like an aqua lady will....

in my experience, aquarius men don't even play the game as much as aquarius ladies..

its seems as if the men have much less rigorous standards than the women..no kidding..



and as far as being cold?


let me put it like this...just don't get on the bad side of an aquarius woman, or man for that instance..

these women are also pretty cold in the beginning when they are getting to know someone but i am well aware this is for protective reasons only...

with that being said, i NEVER said aquarius people are cold at heart or even in general..I don't usually attribute that attirbute to aquarius because i see that the coldness is merely a superficial, protective later and i usually don't experience that side of them..

i do pretty well with aquarius ladies myself, thank you very much! :-)


and yeah, the reason i don't get under my aqua friends' skin is because i have seen when OTHER people get under it and IT AINT PRETTY...

my goodness, an aqua girl would kick a scorpio's ass on a scorpio's BEST day if the aqua is moved to anger enough...

i really don't think there is a match for an aquarius as far as going TOTALLY MENTAL when moved to anger...aquarius definitely takes the cake on that one...

and the funny thing is, they are usually over it just as fast and when you try to tell them how PSYCHO they were just acting, they look at you like, "come on, it wasn't that bad! i'm COOL, remember?"

bu that time, they have already gained their composure...

but an upset aquarius is a TRUE spectacle indeed....there is truly nothing like it...


its like a solar eclipse or a blue moon or something..that shit happens like once in a lifetime but when it does, WATCH OUT, and if its not you getting buried by an uncontrolled aqua tirade, get some popcorn and a drink, have a seat and enjoy it while it lasts!


aqua tirades usually don't last long so by the time you have returned with your popcorn in hand it will probably be over...

and the reason aquas usually can't see the anger in themselves that OTHERS see in them WHEN they become upset, is because aquas are usually not in touch with their feelings so while they can OUTROSPECT very well and dissect the behavior of others, often quite well, they are not very capable of quality INTROSPECTION- which leads them to confusion...

they are pretty naive in that sense...

if it's true love it will work..a lot of times, it just takes a looooong time for them to be absolutely sure whether it's true love...on your part that is...(especially if the aqua is a girl and her b'day is feb. 9th!)

and if you are still there knocking on their door after years of dealing with their notorious bs, they won't be able to deny that it's true love...in my experience the aqua most likely knew it was true love all along but they want to be absolutlely certain that YOU are aware that it's true love...and once again this is due to their overwhelming amount of insecurity and fear of rejection, which they hide like masters of disguise....
