branh0913, good Q, re: good phenomena or a bad one. It's growing largely with people busy schedules, and changing lives for shy people, and also the freaks. I mean, my gay roomate started chatting with guys online and eventually has met a few of them at the club and it's changed his life. He was so scared to come out of the closet (we're from religeous small town growing up) and this was a way for him to feel comfortable. He is a very good looking guy, and is 27 years old, and it took his risk to online dating to finally get out and start living his life the way he wants.

Another thing - How many people meet someone at a bar?!!! Same thing. They're still a stranger, plus you're drunk and so are they!

So maybe we have to weigh the pros & cons.

Also, ok, so some us of would never do it, however would you look at your friend differently if they said they did?

No online dating for me, never done it and I don't think I would. I'm also very distrustful and there's some real weirdos out there... like you guys for example 🙂
But I did meet my bf online... chatroom on Yahoo. Caught my attention that he lived in the same town as me! (I live in a somewhat small town so that was a surprise) I had lied about where I lived while chatting but in 'private' told him that I too lived in TCville 😛 So we would chat sometimes and he gave me his number but that was too weird for me and I never called him... and about 3 weeks later we again 'bumped' into each other lol (same chatroom) and blah blah I gave him my number and he called and we met up in the mall parking lot. Then we talked a bit... dated... lost contact for a year... bumped into him again last year and la la la la

The bar scene sounds normal to me, all the more cuz you're drunk lol I haven't but I do meet a lot of guys at clubs... and they're pretty cool.

Ok, let me put it this way... I wouldn't go online to find someone purposely 🙂
But I don't see it as a bad thing either. Worked for me 😛 But maybe I would have met him anyway cuz he only lives a few miles from me and in the town where I live everyone goes to the same places... BUT I do think that it would have been different BECAUSE he didn't catch my attention right away and he already had my number LOL
