Hey All!

Have you ever tried those spicy dills? OMG! They are great! I think they are called 'zingers'...have hot red peppers floating in the jar...but, you gotta like it hot to like 'em...

I just wanted to share that the reason I home school my daughter is because she has ADHD and dyslexia...we improved her reading skills dramatically with Syvan...but, seriously, the public school system was failing miserably in seeing her potential or even beginning to educate this girl! It is sad! I could see what the real deal was! They couldn't! Shouldn't they be experts??

Anyway...I encourage this beautiful, fragile (self-esteem-wise), intelligent soul to pursue her dreams daily! She is very special and was not treated well in the public school system...I am trying to reverse the damage they caused!

If you met her now...you would know about the attention deficit/hyperactivity issue...but, not the dyslexia...thanks to Sylvan!

Follow your dreams and help your loved ones to do the same! What have we got to lose?

Take Care!

Hey Star,

The problem isn't with the teacher's. They do spend many hours with a lot of peoples children. They are only people who have their own lives like everyone else. It's unfortunate that they may read a child's character (wrong) simply because they interpret "acting out" or "ADD" as not getting enough attention at home. The truth is teacher's cope with their jobs and their lives on a day to day basis just like the rest of us. When you are surrounded by little people (children) and want to teach and you have a child that is a distraction to the other's a teacher may not have the patients to try "or want" to understand that child's independent needs. I believe it is up to the parents to recognize their own children's special needs and accommodate them accordingly. I think you have made the proper decisions in regard to your beautiful little girl. I'm sure that with you teaching her and spending the time with home schooling that she will gain-not only her intellect but also her emotional well being. Kid's in school can be quite blunt and cruel to each other. I know that I would rather my mother try to work with and understand me rather than be the teacher's pest. That may sound sad but teacher's are not therapist's they have a duty to the rest of the class-to teach the mass majority and not single out favorites or special needs. Yourself being a child of learning should really understand the reality of our school system. I think your awesome and if your child has been growing and learning at home then you should be proud of yourself for taking the proper approach to your child's education. Sometimes society and their route isn't always what's right for everyone. I care for you my friend and God bless you and your lovely Daughter. (I hope I didn't say anything offensive. I think you are an awesome person.)

Your Friend,
Heather

Hi Heather!

No, of course you didn't offend me...
She did have some wonderful teachers, actually...but, she also had some horrible ones...ones that didn't become teachers for the reason of a love of the job...but, rather a love of coaching..
I had mostly wonderful teachers...and got to be the nurse for my absolutely favorite teacher...

I understand what you are saying...it is just that the school didn't want to have her tested and I finally did it anyway...but, in the end...all has worked out...

And, yes, kids can be cruel! She still has kept in contact with her friends though and has made some new ones who are also home schooled!

Take Care!
