Of course I'm no spice girl lol, but most of my friends are, including my bff. Does liking Gangham style mean you are... well whatever that guy is? I love Indian anything, the food, songs, movies, clothes, etc. Which culture do you love, NYAA?

I think I pretty much like all Asian cultures because of how vastly different it is from us here in the west.

NYAA, speaking of Asia , would you ever try a bowl of Goyangi-tan? Thats a delicious, slowly simmered bowl of cat soup. Its said that the soup is more tasty when the cat is 1st boiled in a pressure cooker, alive that is. Goyangi-tan is a dish popular amongst the Cantonese people in Guangdong. There's a popular Chinese saying and its like this, "The Cantonese will eat anything that flies, except airplanes, and anything with legs, except a chair". Its also said that in the area of Guanghzou there's been an increase in "catnapping", cats being stolen from loving homes and being sold to restaurants to make a healthy bowl of broth.

Who would not like devdas!? its an epic!...... i blast "re dola" at work best song eva lol....if u ever watch a bollywood movie make it devdas..

My all time favourite movie is Crouching Tiger Hidden dragon.......This movie has changed me...seen it countless, Ive owned it 8 times and have given it away that many times now i have it permanently on my computer.....

The reason I love it.......Its about a student "zhang ziyi" shes an aquarius!!....of a discipline called wu dan and its like the best kung fu in the world.....This girl is the governors daughter of Beijing in the Qing dynasty and keeps her kung fu a secret.... but her bigger secret is that she's excelled her master at the art who is a psychopathic nun who is on the run because she killed the master of wu dan and poses as her servant......So the girl steals a sword called the green destiny which can cut through anything making her invincible and runs away to live the Giang Hu life style which is like a wondering traveller outside the walls of society where theres warriors, bandits and thieves an you have to watch your BACK!! anyways she just causes mayhem for everyone because even they have a code of conduct out there but she's just unrelentless and just fights for the sake of fighting and showing off......oh god its such a fucking awesome movie its so perfectly poetic and around the time I was 15 when i watched this and was a rebellious teenager this was a movie that understood me.....I learnt that adults cant be trusted and they want to reel you into line and live their lives through you .... and they feel jealousy and resentment against you and your youth and success....I also learnt to understand potential and that being your own teacher can make u feel alone but also smug ..... anyways its my all time fav. I love ang lee
its beautiful the music is good the sound effects are awesome the story...and its like each character is a blatant zodiac sign or has contrasting traits that sets them apart.....so yeh its really inspiring

This movie made me wonder why parents give their kids toys and games and shit when really they should just give their kids a bamboo stick and leave them in the backyard until they master it...

Funny u say that I used to live with a korean girl and she told me she broke her leg once so her grand mum heated a cast iron pot on the fire then she threw a cat in it alive to kill it then made a soup and her knee was better afterwards....she also said that u dont make eye contact with the cat or its ghost will haunt you......we also used to eat pickled fish guts as a condiment 😛

Korea is my favourite culture....for some reason koreans love me.....I really want to move there this year or next year and just become famous..

I got 3 all time favorites and they are all from Bollywood
a)Devdas
b)VeerZara
c)Dilwale Dulhania Lejayenge

All are about forbidden love. I'm a sucker for sad love stories, must be my venus/neptune conjunction

Love A and C. C is a total classic!!! I agree with 11th sign, who hasn't watched Devdas. If you're gonna watch bollywood movie, make it Devdas. Lord, the colors and the clothes and the background in the movie are just surreal!!

I'll just name a few movies that come to mind because I have no one fav

The Last Samuri
Hero
Drive
John Carter

Yeah I guess I just like cheesy movies ^.^

I realize I never said why I liked any these lol whoops

1)Last Samuri - I found Tom cruises performance excellent and a great movie about personal redemption.... How these people so foreign to him helped him forgive himself for killing thousands of American Indians needlessly... How a man found his honor his self respect again.

2)Hero - while a bit extreme the idea of letting your enemy succeed.... Because of a new profound discovery that his success will ultimately benefit society

3)Drive - because in my opinion the character Ryan Gosling plays in the movie is a real mans man....

4)John Carter - the love story to this movie was really kinda what I liked and it was a original tale too... Man loses all the loved ones in his life and decides to say fuck you to society and life and lives how he pleases till the selflessness of a dame from mars to save her kingdom and planet pierces his cold lonely heart. Pretty Epic for Disney course I don't think they are the original writers

1 - Wall Street. For Gordon Gekko. The original is a quotable every minute. Although ironically the best line is delivered by the innocuous third father figure when he talks about man, character and what keeps him out of the abyss.

2 - Kingdom of Heaven. I pretty much love anything from Sir Ridley Scott but William Monahan's script makes the film, not to mention Ghassan Massoud delivering one of the greatest and simplest lines of all time. The film also does a great job of explaining Islam as more than just a religion and the Arab complex of pan-Arabism vs nationalism that has given them a big insecure complex till this day.

3 - Lately... Back To The Future. I seriously underestimated how on point this film is. "Yes, I do understand... any man that knows too much about his own destiny risks endangering his own existence, just like you are endangering yours"... and my favourite line from the film "Marty, you have to come with me to the future now!" "Why Doc, what happens? What do we become a** holes or something?"

Some films I love to watch just to switch off are Fast and Furious 5, and the Transporter trilogy. Honourable mentions to the Dark Knight Rises since I love films with a messiah theme to it, and Bane was brilliant as the Male Messiah/Punisher.

Yeah those new Batman movies were pretty dope

The latest one was pretty good I kinda hated how they made him all frail but hey I'll work with it

Okay so one of my favourites from the long list is Requiem for a Dream.

I remember watching this with my friends right about the time when we're that age and we started drinking, smoking, weed and of course thought about experimenting with the 'harsher' things so we thought. Back then we didn't think much of it all. Became more of a precaution and we started researching more into drugs that can have really bad effects. So back then movie actually became a sort of catalyst for our awareness.

It really wasn't until I took a semester in film that I started appreciating this movie. There's many simple yet compellingly devices like length, angle and usage of shots and certain scores. Those who've seen this you can probably all agree that first trip to pawn the tv was like an metaphor for drug use. Fantasy and innocence through the theme park and the ultimate vulgar endings for everyone. What's even more amazing is that it tells a story from a non-addict's side as well.

Anyway I've written a lot before this about this movie but it stays with me as one of the greatest.

The others that come to mind at the moment are, Blade Runner and Delicatessen.
