What makes an Aqua man act like a proud lion??

I've been dating an Aqua guy for the past five months or so. Its been tough to say the least...never boring which is very important for me since Im also an Aqua! However, this guy is very vocal...he's already told me that he loves me awhile ago...He'll go a month being distant, and as soon as Im pulling away..here he comes with the reasons why I shouldnt leave and why he loves me soo much. However, we both have a huge issue with pride. My issues with pride are more like I'd rather work four jobs than to sell my body or become a stripper (my own personal op....no offense to my hustler women...gotta love'em)I dont like to open myself up to new relationships to quickly but will give it a try. If in fact I see that its not going anywhere I will quickly pull out of the relationship/friendship...His pride is strictly appearance...whether it be his flashy clothing to appearing to not care about anyone other than himself. He's able to open all the way up then close all the way down in a matter of minutes. Me on the other hand after I've closed up shoppe...its a wrap, hey, can we just be friends??(LMAO)

Does anyone have any insight to why he would be acting so PROUD after opening up to me? Now, I've got very lil paitence for thngs and this is def. one of them... I dont like to play games...I've been told that I dont even play the radio(its a joke)...I dont like to beat around the bush nor to I intend on waisting time with him or anyone else. His behavior will have him remebering me and thats it...Please excuse my spelling...thank you.

Thanks to all for your insight...greatly appreciated. I do believe that his arrogance and pride is a defense mechanisim...He is the type of man that cries easily though...I've seen it before. I do believe that he cares for me to a certain extent...for there is a huge difference between caring for someone, being "In Love" and simply loving someone... however, Im not willing to stick around with my heart open...I will be his friend with my heart closed. I know it sounds crazy but when Im just his friend with a not so open heart, Im able to walk past him (like yesterday eve.) and not even look into his direction...you know, treat him the same way he's treating me...

So after yester evenings incident where I saw him 100 feet prior to walking past him (wlking towards my car, past the barbershop where he gets his hair cut)...I knew that the timiming was perfect to just ignore his ass and strut pass him in my 4inch stilletos not missing a beat...It killed me and I know it bruised his ego...Now I know that I will see him again, we work in the same area...maybe 2 blocks away. But I've got a knack for ignoring people that I feel have done me wrong in any way. Am I wrong?

He'll be calling me in a few days....crying and pleading. I think I'll do just fine by ignoring his calls for a few weeks, maybe even a month or so.

I've done and AM DOING the more mature thing for myself. I have tried to discuss our problems with him...he isnt ready nor willing to change. Thats cool too....however, since he's not ready to be mature about this...then the best thing for me to do right now is to simply leave him alone. Yeah, and I do like him...I do enjoy his company and all that jazz...BUT I also USED to like TOM, DICK, and HARRY...but when my feelings are more involved than the other party...its best for me to pull back the best way I know how...Starfish....Im quite sure you dont have a problem DOING YOU right? Neither do I...Im on this board to pass the damn time away honesty..vent here and there. But thats about it...I do believe that Starfish must live on these boards...he's or she's taking this thread too seriously..LMAO.

Hey, he's blowing my phone up right now. Yeah, its not mature to play games...but life is just a big TEST and when and If you find something that works for you...then stick to it damnit!! I mean live by that ish! If my being not so available...hence, Ignoring the hell outta him makes his toes curl up and he looses sleep then hey!

If this guy started out with an egotistical attitdue & heart, that would be different. But why he's all of the sudden acting like the world revolves around him (appearance wise), is kind of a weird situation. I think others are right, Aquas normally have the average confidence of a typical Aqua but when their attitude changes over night & they start acting like Leos, THEN there is some underlying insecurity or true colors involved.
