Hm maybe I should have posted this in the health forum instead my bad. Thanks for your reply. You are good people. And I will posts this in there. I really wanted to know.
It can be related if it is genetic. And what your parents sun sign is to see if there's commonalities. With other people
Thanks cheeseburger. Very appreciative for you to speak about this. I wish you a great day, even a great present and future outcome... And always keep your head up....
Thanks dj- wow no cure yet, soo how do you control it. Very expensive medication? I am sorry to hear there's no cure. I hope there would be soon.
Ok I didn't realize this was a hard topic to talk about. But I appreciate those who responded. Thanks
What kind of talents? or disadvantages do you have? Compared to other people..
I know I don't have autism, but depression and ADD is a motherfucker. I can't image what autism people must go through on a daily basis. People are ignorant sometimes and don't understand.
I am a 56-year-old male recently diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome which as you may know is a mild form of autism. It was a shock to be so diagnosed as I had come away from my consultation with a specialist with the impression that he thought that I had NOT got it, so was unprepared for the letter I later received saying that in fact I do have it. Obviously I am a Virgo, and apparently a lot of "aspies" are Virgos. They say that autism can run in families and my uncle who died many years ago (and who was also a Virgo) may have been full-on autistic.
I am trying to come to terms with this diagnosis but wish it had happened years ago as for one thing I have been unemployed for a long time and I am sure that this has got a lot to do with it (e.g. unwittingly behaving in an inappropriate way in an interview situation and/or in the workplace). For one thing I have been told that I do not make eye-contact well (which is apparently classic asperger's) which does not help in building relationships (not just sexual/romantic relationships, but friendships and work relationships as well).
I suppose I do get quite angry but try to contain it though of course that is quite stressful: I deal with my anger/frustration partly by listening to heavy rock music and partly through exercise but also I am afraid by a tendency to overindulge in food (i.e."comfort eating").
I'm not sure if I have met other aspies but may do soon as I am trying to find out about local support groups: if I do meet some I would be open to having a relationship with a female aspie although apparently most aspies are male.
