Many lawmakers in both parties are now openly discussing whether bankruptcy might be a better option for auto firms they regard as lumbering industrial dinosaurs that have done too little to adjust their products and work forces for the 21st century.

The state of Michigan is sinking, fast, and with it, whatever hope there was for the US economy. I knew it was only a matter of time. In fact, I posted something about this a few years ago, how the US auto industries (and the US in general) are no longer able to compete globally because they have not been able to adapt. Adaptation requires change and ingenuity, being open to new ways of doing things, and this is not a virtue well received by the big three, nor up until recently, most americans. What's next?

AQI!!!! Hey, girl 😄

Actually, if they divided the money up, it would definitely stop the recession because people would not be afraid to spend and they will have money left over to put in their saving.

Theres just so many things that the old administration is doing wrong ... I'm not a fan of the bailout either but if it doesn't have happen, Michigan will sink and our destruction will carry over to other states as well ...

My problem with the bail out is this. I know my company, if we go under it's due to senior managment and we are currently battling this. We had a lay off which rocked us as it does everyone. BUT NONE of the VP's got sent on their way. HOW DO YOU IMPLIMENT AND CHANGE A DIRECTION OF A COMPANY IF the leadership in place doens't change??

So for the auto industry, they have been poorly managed and so now the govt. should bail them out— what happens to the VPS that have been collecting enormous bonus's for years—? had they better managed they wouldn't be in such a situation. They have raped us for years in the cost of purchasing a car. There is no excuse for the situation they are in. Within a matter of a couple years, the price of a truck went up bout 10 grand. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? and now, we as a country are broke... half due to the costs of living expenseives significantly increasing, you want a bail out—

As much as i know the damage of the Auto industry going under, it just pisses me off rewarding unqualified management.

How dare you go and represent your company for a bail out and fly in a private jet. infuriates me.
