Venus Retrograde in Capricorn - December 2013

Venus Retrograde in Capricorn 2013: Re-define, Re-consider, Re-think
Venus will start its Retrograde period beginning November 20th at 13 degrees Capricorn (shadow period begins), actually retrograding at 28 degrees Capricorn on December 21st, and wrapping up on March 4th (Shadow period ends). This retrograde will occur between 13 and 28 degrees Capricorn. I am calling this the "hot zone". If you have any planets falling at these degrees in Capricorn or any of the other Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra), you will feel the impact of this transit more intensely, causing you to sit up and take notice. Although this transit will require ALL of us to re-define, re-consider and re-think our values (and what we value) and decide what is important and worthy to us, the Cardinals will feel the pressure to do this much more.

The Libra side of Venus rules relationships and beauty. The Taurus side of Libra rules our values and worth (self worth and self-value, as well as those things we deem valuable and worthy that are outside of ourselves), and things of importance. The house that Venus will be transiting in your personal natal chart will be the area of life that you will be asked to re-asses, to make sure that you are considering its importance in your life. The Venus transit in CAPRICORN wants you to take this SERIOUSLY. Capricorn is all about accountability and responsibility, and the more you work to repair and revise this "house" with respect to the above themes, the more you will be rewarded, that's how this Saturn ruled sign works. Capricorn exudes the energies of commitment, solidity, quality. The questions that may come up during this transit are; Are your relationships meeting your standards and values? Capricorn is also about "cutting back on" or conserving...pairing down to the essentials. Therefore, this Venus transit may be asking us to really define what is important to us on a practical level. We are getting into what is "essential" for our happiness. If you had only a few things to choose from, what would you keep and what would you release?... and these "things" don't necessarily have to be material things either. This is a time re-think all of the above and cut our losses. This is a time to think, to observe, to ponder what feels right and what doesn't on a gut level, ... and then make your list.

1st house - re-examine yourself as a person. This is an "All about me" transit. Are you the person you really want to be? If not, what needs to change? What about you has to go, and what needs to be cultivated? Are you spending enough time perfecting yourself? There is something to be said about being independent.... there is value in that. Explore your feelings about this.

2nd house - very strong transit (as this is a Venus ruled house), where you will be required to re-examine what is valuable to you, what is important. You will look at your finances, your self-worth and the ability to provide your yourself in a self-sufficient way.

3rd house - re-examine your communication and its efficacy, and your mind and mental status. Do you value communication and learning? How are your social skills? What state are those things in? What about your relationships with your siblings, neighborhood and community? are they in good standing? Are they important? Do you value them?

4th house - re-examine values and the importance concerning home life and family. and if you are a female, being a mother. 4th house is the past from which we came from and that which has shaped the person we are....its is our foundation. Have you overlooked the importance of these things in your life? This may manifest in a more literal way, and have you re-thinking your place of residence. You may think about re-decorating or moving (wait until after the retrograde!!!!! This time is for re-thinking!). Changes in your home environment may occur.

5th house - re-examining your creativity. What do you put your energy into? Does it make you happy? Does it have pay-off or you? Does it satisfy? Are you using your talents? This may also bring the

Have you had health issues? Are you taking care of yourself - in Body, Mind and Spirit? If you don't have your health, its hard to really have anything else.

7th house - this will be strongly felt, as Venus is the natural ruler of the 7th. re-examining partnerships will be a huge theme. Is you partner good for you? Are you a good partner? Are you alone, or have feelings of loneliness? Do you build walls to keep people out? How is your social life going? If becomes important for you during this time to re-visit these themes and fix this area of life.

8th house - re-examining your most intimate partnerships, and as a result your sense of power. Are you empowered in your relationships or drained. How are your finances? Is someone draining those too? What is lingering in your unconscious that dis-empowers you? Are you in debt? If your not empowered, perhaps you need to take a look at this in your life and re-discover its importance. Its likely that scenarios will manifest that make you take a look at these things.

9th house - re-examining your belief system, and your life philosophies. Are these areas in decay? What is the meaning of life? Why are you here? What is your purpose? What is the purpose of anything? 9th house also rules travel, and expansion of your world and knowledge through the exploration of other cultures, or the pursuit of a formal education. Are these things important to you?

10th house - re-considering your career, and your social standing, and the importance of these things. Do you value your career? Are you expending effort and energy in the outer world, making a name for yourself? Are you in the right career, or do you need a change?

11th house - re-considering your group associations and friendships. Are these things feeding you? Are you maintaining satisfying friendships? Would you like to expand this area of life? What groups do you belong to, and what ones do you want to belong to? 11th is also your hopes, wishes and dreams. You may want to consider wh

You may want to consider what these are... re-visit these things. Your future long term goals fall under this house as well, so what are they and how can you accomplish them.

12th house - This house is about regenerating yourself by cultivating peace, quiet and solitude. Meditation is an activity associated with this house. It also represents spirituality, but also self -undoing unconscious behaviors. Are these things important to you? Are you including them in your life? Are there things that you must let go of in order to liberate yourself? re-evaluate your need for solitude and cultivating a spiritual side of life.

Many times, the house that Capricorn inhabits in your chart is an area of life that may feel blocked or hard won. This can cause frustration, or a feeling of being cut off from something. These feelings may arise during this transit. However, we must remember that the energy of Saturn/Capricorn asks us to work hard to develop a "right attitude" towards these particular things. I have venus in capricorn in the 7th natally. I have been feeling the urge to drop useless people who add no value to my life.

I have venus in first house. It's going to be a lot of self examination, which I analyze myself to death all the time anyway. Plus, capricorn is in sun, mercury, moon and the third house.

Good shit! I was initially not liking this retrograde, but i am always of the mindset that you should become better and more analytical about your life, so yah this works for me, i'll read up more about it on my free time unless you have more to add TrueCap.

I checked about 5-6 sites and they all say it's going to be hardest on the cardinal signs. Not sure if there's more to add. This one was the simplest and most direct site, so this is the one I copied.

How are the cardinal signs influenced connected? Phrasing lost me :p Tons of Cardinal energy in my chart, and kinda hoping I don't have to batten down the hatches.

I thought because venus retrogrades into capricorn and that is a cardinal area.
