I love every book I've ever read by Ruth Rendell who's 17th February Aquarian. She also writes under the nom de plume of Barbara Vine. She writes mysteries but her style focuses on the bizarre and macabre ideosyncracies of people. Most of her characters are unhinged and her mastery is in how she draws it out so that the core of their madness is revealed gradually throughout the course of the book. What's also interesting is that her characters are not so different from everyday characters in real life 😉

'idiosyncratic' I would imagine that this would be the goal for many fiction writers i.e. successfully bringing out or conveying the idiosyncratic dispositions of the fiction characters featured in their works workin' in tandem with real life personalities or characters that we may be familiar with, a reminiscence a familiarity; it depends on the fictitious extrapolative skills of writers cuz quite a bit of that idiosyncratic s*% T can come across as familiar mundane banalities. MelloDee you must have your own fair share of "unhinged" characters that you are familiar with.
