Is there more to consider though? Other than sun signs?
I guess what it all comes down to... is I don't consider myself to be a typical Pisces. And I'm wondering what other aspects of my birth chart would influence who I am compatible with
deezie its not only the sun sign which is important, but its actually the whole horoscope of a person.
its generally considered true that pisces will get along with cancers and scorpians, and not with fire and air signs. but this can be remedied if u have a lot of air sugn influence in ur chart and ur partner has a lot of water in her chart.
u see the moon sign, the rising sign as well as what signs ur venus and mars and mercury are in matter in a relationship analysis.
Seeing as how MR Nice, is leading you astray, I think its time I set you straight. The MAIN things, that matter in compatibility, are as follows:
Sun Moon Venus Mars
People with incompatible sun signs, can still empathize, and get along with each other quite well, if their Moon venus and mars, are in compatible signs, with your sun and or moon sign, and so forth.
There are MANY libra/aquarus and pisces/taurs relationships that SUCK !, due to the main fact that their moon signs are compatible. The moon controls emotions, so if the moon signs aren't compatible, your in problems already.
If you have any more questions, you can just message me, cause Idoa remember which category this post was under lol
ditto on what Evo Fish said about your moon signs and other planets to follow. your ascendants are also very important because this sets up your chart and your house cusps where each of your planets will visit the other person's certain houses, etc. don't rule out critical asteroids and your vertex points as well. complicated really, sometimes even a headache could result!
but look for empathy, rapport, communication, stability and common goals (among other things). remember, you don't want too many good aspects, the relationship can erode with time because it may become stagnant from being too comfortable.
haha... I'm apparently looking to hear what I want to hear! and you both give me hope! And as much as I like to consider astrology, it is by no means the end-all-be-all!!
One thing that sucks is.... it is so hard to know a person's full chart.... because very rarely would I feel comfortable asking a guy what time he was born at! Talk about "make em run" material! ahhhhhhhh..... boy.
A lot of people forget that mercury (or a well aspected 3rd) is a main point of compatibility as well. Too many people wish they had better communication with someone.
.....don't rule out critical asteroids and your vertex points as well. complicated really, sometimes even a headache could result!.....
agent, it really is a headache, isn't it? I have a question for you. How many vertex points are there and what is the meaning of someones point of vertex? This is something I would very much like to learn more of (from a human being lol), if it's okay?
....Those damn air sign communicators are just too detached and constantly chat about crap I don't care about!...
pushit I have mercury in cancer and I can't do it either. Mercury in Cancer is made to absorb peoples emotions. It tends to be the quiet one in the back of the room listening to everyone else talk. Supposedly the best listener in the zodiac. I can see how too much talk from others can be a real strain for a watery merc after awhile. People tend to get even chattier around someone they know is going to listen.
...oh n im also working out on the vertex right now...
thank you pluto, I am too. The article I am reading says it is located on the western part of the chart. I imagine close to most peoples 7th? I can see how it would be considered in a synastry in that sense.
Along with the 'destiny' and 'fate' stuff I keep reading this is also calling it a 'wish' fulfillment point. I liked reading 'turning point' better. Wouldn't the 11th house also be considered a wish fulfillment area? The vertex is debated.
No you aren't blabbering. I think it's a combination too. But as far as the descriptions for what this actually is (the point of vertex) I keep reading destiny point and wish fulfillment. Wouldn't the north node fit the description of soul evolution better? It is a grey area.
Here is an interesting article...
In Astrology (the Nitty Gritty) So anyway, based on the Vertex being astronomically located on a "turning point" in the sky, then it probably has something to do with "turning points" in your life. It does. Based on it being located in the 5th through 8th houses, then you can bet it quite often has something to do with "meetings of people." It does.
Here's my astrological rule of thumb definition of the Vertex: the Vertex is a sensitive point on the chart (any chart) that during unusual, extraordinary times feels like a fortunate "turning point" or a meeting with "Destiny's Gate."
The Vertex often feels like a compulsive, yet fortunate experience and meeting up with destiny that you couldn't avoid (even if you wanted to). According to Bill Meridian (Mountain Astrologer, June/July 2001), astrologer, Charles A. Jayne who (along with Lorne Johndro) first came up with using the Vertex, "felt this point was fated and that it represented matters beyond our control."
Here's how I typically use the Vertex (and the anti-Vertex):
Destiny's Gate can be:
a person (and how they effect you) in synastry, the most effective when another person's natal Sun, Moon, Ascendant, Venus or Mars conjuncts your natal Vertex or anti-Vertex. I've gotten a wee bit stingy in my old age - and I only (90% of the time) use conjunctions when looking at the Vertex and anti-Vertex. Also, the slower a planet is... the more narrow my orbs tend to get when looking at cross aspects with the Vertex and anti-Vertex.
a time (when you meet a special person) when a transiting planet - especially the Sun - conjuncts your birth Vertex or anti-Vertex. Be Careful What You Wish For Through the years, I've discovered that it's a whopping big mistake to overly romanticize the Vertex and/or the people that it brings into our lives. In this regard, I especially like what my good friend Aussie astrologer Judy Crichton Weeks has to say about the Vertex. In a nutshell, she feels that the Vertex is a "relationship" point and a "wish fulfillment" point. When the Vertex is involved, we may get exactly what we wished for, but then again we might (or might not) get it in
Yep! You may feel like you've literally "wished" this destined meeting with a person into existence. However, later on (after everything's said and done)... She... er, I mean... "Destiny's Gate" may not feel quite as "fortunate" as you originally thought! Okay? This destined meeting often fills one up with the sense of needing to bring something (or someone) to "completion." You may even find that you simply can't let go of that Vertex person (maybe for years or even decades) until the business between to two of you is finished and/or somehow felt to be complete.
Final Word Of Caution As I mentioned previously, the Vertex is a sensitive point on the chart (any chart) that during unusual, extraordinary times feels like a fortunate "turning point" or a meeting with "Destiny's Gate." When folks first discover the Vertex, they usually go a little "hog wild" with it! It seems like most us assume anything and everything about us and our chart is going to be unusual and extraordinary. It's not and we're not.
So... yes, there are those "unusual, extraordinary" times when the Vertex (and/or the Anti-Vertex) on a chart gets "lit up" and becomes very powerful. Then, it seems, that in every subsidiary chart cast (in relation to that original chart) - the Vertex is equally strong and "lit up."
But then, there are plenty of other times when it (the Vertex) ain't doing a blessed thing... there are plenty of times when (for example) the transiting Sun or Venus is going to pass over your birth chart and you're not about to meet a new and exciting lover (and/or you're not going to come into easy money). Other times... it means exactly that.
purrrfect, like pluto's muse said, there is only one vertex and it's located in the western part of the chart, mainly located from the 5th to the 8th houses only. the vertex, also known as "destiny's gate", as the atricle said, is indeed a turning point. it can a person or a time (like when a planets transits your vertex). if someone's planet is sitting on top of your vertex (or anti-vertex), it will literally "turn your head" and possibly change your life, sometimes in more than one area. only allow for a one degree orb, as this is a calculated point, not an asteroid or a planet. i met someone whose mercury and venus sat right on top of mine (in the 8th house no less), and wow, it was life-altering, he made me do a 180 in the way how i viewed relationships and the communications involved in such.
