Condolences. My mother/younger sisters in alabama, grandfather in flordia are fine just stuck in the house while waiting out the water so the cleaning/water damage estamating and repairing to be done, but wondering how cancerlady, branh and others are right now—??

We are cool in Atlanta...Well at least where I live.
People don't believe all that crap, yeah there were a few tornados and storms...a few houses damaged, trees torn down but it was not at ALL like what they made it seem.
I've noticed people here cannot handle inclimate weather in any shape or form. It snowed 1 inch once and people here were going nuts, shutting everything down etc. When it rains, the accidents are ridiculous! So thanks for caring Tiamat, but be more concerned about the people in AL, LA, and MS...they need our prayers more!

Glad that everyone is okay. But that hurricane left a good bit of people misplaced, help any way u can. One sad story is the man who try desperately to hold on to his wife and had to let go,man i felt it. Jus wished i can help, also it goes to show that mother nature is telling us earthlings shape up or be shipped out.

My company has a branch in New Orleans. As of yesterday morning, out of 70 employess, 11 had managed to contact us so far. The manager's home is gone. We are flying those we can find to Houston and paying for shelter, food, etc.
It's so bad down there. Being in Arkansas, many of those from the hurricane are ending up here, some, permanently. Our government is waiving previous school records for those children who are starting school here. Our state parks are filling up rapidly. The local trucking companies together with the radio stations, TV stations, and citizens of central Arkansas are sending truckloads of water and other supplies to damaged areas.
My second job is at a Subway sandwiches outlet. A couple came in yesterday to eat and I noticed by the accent that they weren't from here. Found out they were from New Orleans. I paid the bill.
We are helping as much as we can; it's going to be a long time before any of these people can go home, if ever.
My prayers are with them.

Yeah seeing it on news is one thing but to experience first hand is not a nice experience at all. Why it taking soooo dammmn long fo dem to help huh?Dat is what upsetting me. Imagine hate to say this they veeeeeery quick to go war, get troops out there in iraq or wherever and dey NOW trying to deploy AID, national gaurd, etc. The situation is extremely dire down there. But i'm glad everyone in their own little way helping as humanly possible as they can. Stay blessed people

It will take about 6 months for new orlens to drain basically,at least thats what the news broadcasters are saying whats expected.Bush says it will only make new orlens stronger or some sh t,I don't expect much from him.Im really starting to hate someone I've never meet,I don't like it.Donating cash is pretty much the only thing im able to do.At least on a good note, alot of celebrities have picked up spreading the word for help hoping it will motivate some more people.
