Sagittarius woman making the move on Cancer man?

I am a Sagittarius woman who met a Cancer man at my previous job. While I was working there he would come by my desk, talk to me, have private lunches together and I just still couldn't tell if he was interested because I hate assuming. He would say things like" you should meet his parents and sister" and that he would come visit me once I moved. We were friends (coworkers) and he was telling me these things plus more. He took the time to hang out with me on his day off, it was my last day of work and being in my hometown. He asked me if I wanted to see a movie, but I just couldn't since I was moving to a different state the next day. I moved away for almost a year, but now I am back and I'm wondering if I should ask him to the movies? I am asking for advice because he has great qualities that I just don't want to miss out. Im fine with being friend, but if I have a chance what should I do?
