why are cancer men SO RUDE?!

we went on dates for a while, then he never never answered my calls again 2 months ago, he tried to start over with me 3 weeks ago until i checked his phone and he was texting a ton of other girls named "baby" and "pumpkin" he didn't know i saw the text, so i didn't contact him after one of our dates liken i normally would, and he didn't try either. i just saw him at a party last night and he was all nice to me and towards the end of the night he started making cruel jokes about me to his friends and out loud, when i didn't even acknowledge him. he would glare at me when i'd hug another guy but then he would say i'm a lier, filthy, and dirty and all these rude things, in a joking manner.. that no one found very funny.

i'm not saying i like him or i want him back, because I DONT. yes i still think about him alot.. and this situation upsets me tremendously but i feel like the way i'm handleing the situation is WRONG. i try and make fun of him back and i'm not a rude person so my come-backs have just made me look dumb.

HOW DO YOU HANDLE A RUDE CANCER? because i know i will be seeing him again and i want to say the right things when he attacks me like this, because ignoreing him dosent work when he's right in front of my face

& also, WHY IS HE SO RUDE TO ME WHEN I HAVE DONE NOTHING WRONG?

PLEASE GIVE ME ADVICE ON HOW TO HANDLE THIS
