with stupid people?

For example, another department is responsible for checking certain things to make sure they are done. This is their job. It has recently come to my attention that if I don't point out something specifically to this department then it doesn't get done or gets missed. Their excuse is they didn't tell us. Uhmmm....you shouldn't have to be told - you were hired to check this and it is YOUR responsiblity. So, now, it has recently become MY responsibility to make sure they know what they're supposed to already be doing. What? Are they stupid and can't be responsible enough to do their job? I asked if I were going to be responsible for their job, can I take their paychecks home too? Got a laugh from the boss, but no extra paycheck. lol!

I don't mind the responsibility, only takes a second, but it really pisses me off that some people can be that stupid/ignorant/indifferent/whatever and get away with it and keep their jobs.

Anyway, now, I'm finding myself being really condescending to these people. Just wondering if any other caps ever go through this.

oohhh i get you. i hate incompetency in the work place. if you're gonna do a job, do it right, or let /allow someone else who is better qualified for it.

sadly so many people have jobs that they aren't good at/qualified for, but it is how it goes. They got lucky getting that job -- yet they do less than half the work pace than someone else. Well, that's how it is....

i was so curious, since twistingstrawberry mentioned capricons in leading work force....so there has been some studies:

http://www.divinecaroline.com/self/horoscopes/who-are-hardest-workers-zodiac<BR>
"Recently I read about an Australian company that put out an ad seeking new employees, but with a rather uncommon request—the applicants had to be a certain astrology sign. Anyone under the Taurus, Aquarius, Aries, Capricorn, or Leo signs were encouraged to submit resumes because, according to a spokesperson for the company, those signs make the best employees.

I was a little miffed, and not just because I'm a hard-working Gemini. Our birthdays (which we have no control over) supposedly outline our personalities and fates, and now they make or break our chances for employment? I??d never looked into my sun sign beyond the occasional monthly horoscope or my compatibility with crushes, but seeing how astrology shapes us as employees seems just as important—particularly if helps us land (or hold on to) a job.

Capricorn
Goats pride themselves on being highly productive and will thrive best in work environments that challenge them. They tend to get antsy if they??re not multitasking and they will focus on succeeding in their careers above cultivating friendly work relationships. However, that unyielding focus can also make them prone to narrow-mindedness and an aversion to change, and their eager-beaver moods will quickly sour if they feel their hard work isn't paying off or being properly rewarded."

the second level of management?

mostly cardinal. libra and aries.

next layer? fixed...Scorp, Taurus, Aqua and Leo.....all FOUR are represented....and an odd cardinal cancer here and there.

I only know of a few mutable coworkers. A virgo in HR and a gem in my department.

True. I haven't seen many mutable managers in any of my jobs.

I was offered a management position at the restaurant I work at part time, but turned it down for a variety of reasons.

I prefer to be power behind the throne, so to speak. 😛

At a previous job, I co-led some projects with a Sag. It was a great fit. She was the leader type and could get people excited about making changes, teaching and recruiting while I was the manager type and made sure things were implemented and followed up on. We worked awesome together! And not territorial, as we preferred different aspects of the project.

😛 what's this "power" behind the throne deal. You mean like a "wizard" or seer, who stands behind the King (like in King Arthur with Merlin) and he whispers things into his ear kind of thing?

It's hard for me to be outright condescending towards others. I find it easier to avoid the individual as much as possible or to keep conversations short.

Unfortunately, you do have a lot of this in the workplace. I have no problem, however, addressing a supervisor if a coworker's work is being pushed onto me due to whatever reason on their part. I've seen too many people getting taken advantage of for not speaking up.

Now, I will get condescending if someone is being that way towards me. Especially if its a supervisor who does not know what they are talking about. That's the worse!

I'm not surprised that a Taurus made that list. 😉
