Between being controlling and getting things done?

I know I can be pushy when it comes to getting projects underway and getting them completed. I try to put people in charge of things and if they're dragging their feet or not making progress, I feel like I have to step in and push a little. Lighting a fire under them, so to speak. Then, if they're still dragging their feet I have an instinct to take over and get it done.

Do other caps feel the same? How do you deal with these situations?

Where is the line between being controlling and getting 'er done?

Is the person competent?
Do they have the tools and or resources to do the task?
Are the expectations of what is to be accomplished clear?

Is the lack of progress because of fear of making a decision because it will be challenged/overridden?

Just asking some questions.
My scenarios is if the person is perfectly capable, has the tools/resources, but doesn't put out any effort.

Disclaimer: I think truecap is awesome! This reply is in no way meant to be any reflection on her 🙂

This reminds me of the situation at my work.

My co-manager is a Virgo Sun with Cap Moon. We do exactly the same job.

She's seen as mean and bitchy. Does she do the work? Yes, but with a negative attitude and complaints. She's also not a team player and wants all the credit. She uses fear and control on the team. She will actually say X is easier to "control". She's just not likable or personable, and co-workers have said she's scary.

Then there's my management style. Lot of Libra influence. I do the work too, but take the time to get buy in from the team (obviously not when there's a deadline). When there's credit to be had, and it's clearly mine, like online reviews from my customers that only mentions me, I make sure to say it's a team effort and I mean it! When an awesome position became open at the head office last week, I was tapped for it from the owner of the company who's a woman so no hanky panky! She said they all "love" me up there.

I think Caps are great in many ways but the harsh and calculating nature can be a set back sometimes to their success. Just my 2 cents.

LoL, the entire post read as controlling.

I just like to do the majority of things myself. I cant stand to be on anyones time, which includes waiting for them to finish something. It drives me crazy and Im the type that geels slighted by every little thing. Dragging your feet is a form of disrespect imo lol. I just avoid exposing my craziness by doing all that I can myself.
