My job.....is this fair?

Ok so I've got questions for you. I've had one vacation in almost the four years I've been at my job. We get two weeks a year but due to my workload I haven't been able to take off. I have adrenal and thyroid problems so if your familiar with this; you know stress is a big culprit. Anyway, I asked for a vacation and basically have to beg; meaning asking at least twice by email and then get the "if you get all your work done". I know the law doesn't care if I ever have one but if she can take her two full weeks a year along with others; but I'm told it's not feasible for me....this is bullshit! I'm actually taking off 2 and 1/2 days and had to literally beg for it.

I want your opinion on this. I want to go to HR but scared ONLY because there were layoffs earlier this year and shitty one at that. They called people on their day off (saturday) to tell them not to come back.

I mean, seriously I'm afraid I may blow up on the bitch at work. I have never been late; ever. Her best friend, I took on alot of her work and yet I get screwed by my workload; again. She sits and visits with her friend at least twice a day; she is her boss....which is screwy. BUT anyone else visiting she makes it clear it's not acceptable. I want to cuss the bitch out so bad.

This is a crazy time fr companies right now. Its hard for anyone to get time off, even those who have been there for years.

Ok I get that but she is taking off...her second full week vacation this year....there are two others in my department who took a whole week off just last month.

This isn't fair.

be happy that you have one and you get a paycheck alot people will be so grateful to have your job i did a job interview

whoa, come down. I read it all 🙂 I was just a train wreck last night and I didn't write as much as I should have.

You are right, it is bullshit but at the same time I wouldn't push it. I do agree with Lactose, if you tell them this is what you are doing, what can they say? I mean, you know you deserve it like everyone else.

I'm going to just keep a positive attitude. Take time off when I can and as often as I can. I'm going to start networking for another position in the future. I can't help that I'm so needed haha. It can be a good thing so I'll just keep that in mind. I guess all I wanted was a "why"....why can't I but anyway..........My pouting is over....
