this is from astrology-insight.com:
"The signs of the zodiac also have "Polarity". They are either positive or negative, but not in a "good or bad" point of view, better to think of it like a battery or a magnet, with it's positive or negative poles, not good or bad, just different. Beginning with Aries, the signs alternate between positive and negative through the zodiac.

Fire and Air signs are considered positive or self-expressive. Water and Earth signs are considered negative or self repressive.
The positive polarities are considered Yang and influences the sign toward a nature that is outgoing. Negative polarity is Yin. Signs of negative polarity are more withdrawn and introverted. They are receptive and responsive, and reactive to outside influences."

so positive is outwardly expressive and negative is inwardly expressive. ok then.

i also read the other day that your polarity is based more on your entire birthchart. if six or more of your planets reside in a positive sign, then you are more of an outwardly expressive person and vice versa.

for those of you who dont have a birtchart... http://www.alabe.com/freechart/ ...thats a great site to get one from, complete with planetary placement descriptions.

My mom's a Cancer (my polar sign) and we argue alot cause she would base things on emotion and I would base things on logic so we could never come to an agreement in most cases and her answer for most questions at hand was 'cause I said so' (whether they made sense or not)
