Just curious.... do you post your relationship status on facebook or prefer to keep that off the public airwaves?

If you change it more than 3 times in any 36 month period, it should lock forever. You should then receive an instant message pop up that says "get your life together".

that's awesome. i bet futurists will make this a reality: facebook will have beeping noises and red alert warnings when an individual goes overboard with relationship status. Abort Abort. For the love of all that's holy, Go seek professional help. 😄

i have mine set to single and i have it hidden so only i can see it. to each their own really. i'd consider changing mine too if it were that important to who i'm with, but personally, i've never been a fan of status or labels. i think it's because i can't handle them more so than not being able to agree with them in general.

maybe it's just me, but i feel it's changed so much for me and an ever changing status isnt exactly awesome... so i just leave it. status, labels/definitions, and what should be projected are between two people and in my eyes my status doesnt change until i've committed permanently to someone. until then, it's between me myself and i.

I think "It's Complicated" is a nice blanket status which covers all 🙂

I thought that was code for "the other person is married or otherwise attached to someone other than me but I like them anyway"

Why would a person want to let other people know their love life is in turmoil....sholdershrug, to each his own, I suppose.

i feel as though it has a negative connotation too. but i suppose it doesnt have to and in some cases it could mean something positively non-traditional...

though... i feel like that's rarely the case. just goes to show how much some people love drama...

I never thought it was negative... even single can be/get complicated. But, then again it could suggest some alternative type of relationship with multiples which is too complicated to get into or yes, even having an affair I suppose. In my case, I have a relationship with work more-so than anyone... so, yeah, it's complicated, I guess I could say married to work LOL

However, I don't really use FB anyway, no one posts on my wall nor I theirs. I would hide/delete anything if anyone did post on my wall. I don't have where I went to school, where I work, where I live, where I'm from or anything of a personal nature. When I was doing rescue I would post the pics of my fosters that were for adoption and a description for other rescue volunteers on FB to be aware of. Last time I posted was an update on a dog I lost last summer who was in hospice with me, prior to that I hadn't been on since 2009 as I had stopped fostering any new dogs. Recently I've been logging on occasionally to keep tabs on people (e.g., waiting to see when my daughter announces her pregnancy; my sister announces her wedding - it's supposed to be hush, hush; pictures of my niece's wedding, that kind of thing)

The world would be a much better place without Facefuck...

i agree that there are many many maaaaaaany annoying things about Facebook, but i think it's a microcosm to our bigger world and people. everyone's page is as that person defines it to be, and we see it for what it is...

that said... you can make your own what you want it to be... sort of. for me, i use it for friends and family as kind of a platform for connection. no, not the sole mode of connecting. to me it's an electronic interactive journal. im getting something out of it. and it's saved my ass a few times when i've lost my phone contacts and needed to rebuild. i know others can say the same cuz they have.

i admit... i rarely check the feed anymore unless there are particular people i want to cyber stalk, because it is generally vomit inducing. lol

and i really think that if it weren't Facebook... it would be something else equally as freakish. lol
