Lately I've had an onslaught of dreams almost nightly. I never remember the entire dream but i'll pick a few symbols out and look it up. They tend to mean good fortune. I've had two elevator dreams where I was in an elevator going to a high floor. Elevators are a sign of impending wealth. I had a dream about a Tarantula and sitting in the front pew at church. The Tarantula means good luck as long as I didn't kill it. I didn't.

In my waking life things aren't going well but mainly due to my lack of motivation. What gives?

It is good to gather information through various sourcess on symbolic meanings of things, beings etc. from different cultural perspective, but I wouldn't cling on them literally.

When approaching depicting your own dream, I would advise you not to forget it is your own subconcious mind, your own feelings, your own perception.

If you are experiencing being in an elevator, going up, think about what it means to you? How does it make you feel in the dream and now while thinking about it. Could be that your mind is processing that way your need to "elevate" (maybe from ceratin situation), your feeling to lift yourself up. Or you already feel elevated. Think about your own additude towards tarantula. What is your perception on that animal? Take all about that animal into consideration.

High floors in many people dreams usually mean higher state of self. Mind. I dream a lot about attics when I am in some sort of contemplative period where I seek sort of mental isolation.
