I dreamed of my ex-lover that I have not spoken to or seen in almost 3 years .

In my dream I walked up to him and told him that we need to talk and I hate that there is all these unresolved issues between us and even if we are not friends we should clear the air. After our talk I got up to leave. And I felt that we really did resolve our differences and felt content and ready to leave.

And he said —I want to be with you??. I turned around. And He said?? I want to be with you. I just need to speak to my dad and get him to sign these papers, (he was holding up 2 sheets of paper) then we can be together??. Next moment we were in each other??s arms and hugging and kissing each other. And both of us looked very happy to be together. I don't remember who jumped into who??s arms all I know is I left so happy. And he had the biggest smile on his face.

Then the next day. I am at a friend??s birthday party at a restaurant and when I walked out to leave I hear laughter and looked up and he was joking and laughing with a friend. I pretended that I didn't see him and got into my car and left. I am sure he saw me too.

I didn't think much of it , but I keep running into him for the last 2 weeks. Does anyone know what this dream mean?

Some thoughts:
1. His dad died when he was a teenager. So, what papers does he need to sign and why must he first speak to his dad before he can be with me.
2. I have not thought about him in a looooooooooong time. Why now after all this time?
3. He never even said —I want to be with you?? when we were seeing each other.I was more in love with him then he was with me when we were dating. I might have been the one that jumped into his arms. and he didnt say we are back together. He said he needs to do things before we can be together . Talk to his dead father and get him to sign some papers.
4. Heard he is getting divorced . Is this the papers he needs to sign?
