I can't believe I have the guts to come out and talk about this problem. But 'do you shave your...' post made just think oh well, we're already talking about shaving.

I try not to shave my, what word should I use...?..., V because my sensitive skin gets so irritated so easily. I have brake outs around the are too now. 😢 I hate it. And ouchyyy don't say wax! Even though I know I should do that instead because of the ingrowns. I want to heel this area and clear up the skin to be smooth and not the way it is right now.

I need advise. What should I do? How should I do it? How do I take care of the breakouts and ingrowns? I hate that I ever even tried to shave there!

Ack I tried Nair before and it burned the shit out of me...I even used the sensitive skin kind :/

Shaving gives me the same issues as well, but exfoliation and lotion definitely seem to help quite a bit. I'm going to try waxing soon here. I figure it may hurt, but I'm sure it will be worth it after a time or two 🙂

Same here. I've tried nair in other places though, and it really irritates my skin. Though it wouldn't hurt to try there maybe... but then again if you get the same results for shaving and nair, I'm guessing we're both sensitive. The thing about waxing, the problem besides the pain anyway, is the damn cost. I don't think I'll be able to afford about 50 $ every other month (depending on fast it grows). Esspecially since I don't work and live off mommy still. This sucks, I need a job. lol I need a job so I can afford bikini waxes 😆DDD!!! I'm such a looser

But exfoliating and using lotion doesn't sound bad, but I don't see it working as well as I'd wish 😢

I've discovered that if I shave the same direction as the hair is growing then I have no problem with braking out. And always using moisturising body wash and exfoliating. I'm just going to keep this up till I get my hands on some money and wax. Sure it'll grow back but I'll just shave the same direction when needed. Except my inner highs. That part reacts the same way but I'm able to wax that part on my own so that's what I'm going to do. Esspecially since I love wearing swim suits.

Well it's no secret that some women are just more sensitive "down there" than other women; sometimes that's just how a woman's body is, thus regardless of what she does, certain women may never find something that works perfectly the way they want it too.

There are a few things you can do:
1. Make sure you're changing razors often OR atleast using the right razors. Sometimes it's all in which razors you're using. How often you use the same razor makes a difference too.

2. Understand that those "hair removal" products like Nair (example) often contain STRONG chemicals that can not only break out/irritate your V, BUT also other areas of sensitive skin on your body where there are adrenal glands (arm pits, lower legs, between the thighs, etc.) And if using regular soap, shaving gels or basically LESS CONCENTRATED chemicals isn't working out, then I DON'T think the answer to the solution is to upgrade to a STRONGER chemical; if you think about it, your chances of something like Nair irritating your skin are MUCH higher if other less concentrated products/chemicals are even causing you to break out/notice irritation.

3. There's always the option of going to the dermatologist.
4. Maybe change what it is you're using to coat the area you're trying to shave. A friend of mine used to have the same problem when she was using actual "shaving gels" to shave that area, BUT when she changed & started using actual body wash to coat that area, she NO longer experienced any bumps/irritation.

Okay before my last shave (with shaving gel) for almost every hair that was growing there was a red bump. It's never been that bad. But I used shave gel about two nights ago and then a femenine wash after and ... it's clear! I'm not iching either anymore. I'm happy. The femenine wash is new by the way. There is a powder for itching too but I didn't buy it, was planning to later. I feel good.

vagina? pussy? cunt? snatch? sorry, i find the modesty regarding our genitalia funny... as if they were things to be ashamed of 😛

anyway, waxing is the way to go! suck it up and try it. i loathe shaving because i have sensitive skin too. besides, the pain only lasts for a second but the results (for me anyway) stay for a month! or you could save up some cash and go down the laser route. i had electrolysis done on my eyebrows a few years back and it kicked ass. i only got it because there was this amazing deal on a 6 treatment procedure from a new spa place that opened in my town. it did take until that 6th treatment to see real results but i didn't have to do anything for a year. the pain from that was a little more significant but i felt it was worth a year's worth of not having to maintain it. i have my girly side but i'm low maintenance so things like that are perfect for me! it's up to you though.

Right, and it depends on your modesty level for waxing. I thought I was going to be highly embarrassed but truly these women have seen it all. Another day at work for them, so she got right down to it. But if you're a bit missish it might not be for you. Because you are nude from the waist down and then are urged to stick that bottom in the air for a minute. Didn't hurt like I thought it was going to either. 🙂
