How to Reduce Dark Dots After Shaving

Dark dots after shaving are often caused by ingrown hairs or irritation. To reduce their appearance, exfoliate regularly, use proper shaving techniques, and apply soothing creams. Consistent skincare can help minimize these dark spots over time without relying on sprays.

I guess its because I have really dark hair but ....

I've been trying to get rid of those "dots" that are left behind after shaving. I mean, yes there are sprays that hide it but is there a way to get rid of them without using a spray?

Oh dear, see I thought that might be my only option 😢

I already wax another area so I didn't want to start waxing the legs too but maybe thats all I can do. Maybe I'll stop buying those cheap razors too, maybe they are part of the problem. I just had spending all that money on that spray that kinda hides the problem but not all the way but good enough so I don't look like cookie chip icecream ..

I use Veet. You just spray it on, wait 8 minutes, sponge it off in the shower. It might be worth a shot before you go through the time, expense and OUCH! of waxing such a large area of your body.

Ok, I'll give Veet a try 🙂 The sprays and lotions that I use are sticky and not that helpful -- especially when I'm out in the sun. I have combination/ oily skin. So just like with make up, when I start to sweat, its like I've never put it on, the stuff disappears and I'm like what the hell—

So Veet is good? I have sensitive skin so I will check to see if they have different kinds.

I have very light hair but I get that too, how weird! And I have sensitive skin so red dots are left behind if I don't use shaving cream 😢 But seriously, VEET works?? I tried NAIR once and it burned the crap outta me! I even used the sensitive skin formula...

OMG, that happened to me too with Nair :O I swear, when it started to burn, I thought it was part of the process so I left it on. That was a huge, huge, huge and costly mistake.

When I was younger, I even tried Nair on my face ....... :/ Yep, never ever ever ever in life should any female do that to themselves. I was stupid but I learned, the hard way.

Hey, I get those red dots when I shave without using shaving cream too -- I get them under my armpits and it hurts like hell putting on deodorant.

I use Veet with almond oil in it. It works just fine for me and I have very sensitive skin. Agree with both of you, Nair is an evil product. I tried it one time and had a chem burn. Not fun.
Even though it moisturizes I still put on some perfume free lotion after the tub, just in case. Thought I'd not skip that step in case it had anything to do with the process.

You may wanna try aiming for closer and more frequent/daily shave? Soak and moisturise the hair thoroughly for a long time before shaving... hair removal's a b!tch 😢

Problem with waxing's probably:
1) cost
2) need to do it so often
3) hair may grow back even thicker and darker

Good luck!

Calthrope! Hey you... I've been good. Thanks... wat's good with you?

It may be softer eventually, I dunno, just grows back thicker initially... you only notice the benefit if you stick to it religiously every 4/8 weeks, no stopping... personal experience and they tell you that in salons too if you ask...

With shaving, the benefits will be seen if done daily/every other day, etc...

Veet sounds convenient then! I would loooove to not have to shave 🙂 Nair is terrible though, I certainly learned my lesson!
And CappySweetie, that happens to my armpits too sometimes! The deodorant burns like mad crazy! But hey, you can't have hairy armpits right!

HAHAHAHA, right LOL!!! OMG, heavens if I every let my arm pits get all hairy without doing something about it, someone should just throw me in a hole and bury me there ...

Just say "NEIN" to hairy armpits. I wonder if those deodorant rocks work. Anyone tried those?

I've seen them in the stores but never purchased any. I wasted my money on this all natural deodorant though -- it doesn't help with the smell at all, I found out the hard way :/

What's good with me— EVERYTHING and nothing!! This London weather is doing my head in, i now have a runny nose because the weather just can't make it's mind up. And talk about pollen over exposure-it's everywhere! You can't escape it!!
Zenalchemy tell me something positive and good please! Been on holiday? Going on holiday?

Ok, let me start by apologsing! Missed you all my DXPeople...

Wish I had a wonderful story to wow you with but the honest truth is I became a workaholic by pure accident and added school ontop of it.
However, I'm in the process of making that change as the whole thing was geting the best of me so I shall be around now, pinky swear!

Hope everyone's doing okay anyhow... few people missing, new additions, it's still nice and relaxing on DXP!
