I had to go off my pizza diet...
Not that I wasn't happy! I was extremely happy!! But, my butt and thighs were beginning to show their happiness a bit too much!! Since I went off my pizza diet, I have lost 12 pounds...huzzah!! Thing is I hate to read too much about food because it makes me hungry...so, I can't count calories or read too many recipes...reading about food makes me salivate!!

I am looking for help! Low-fat recipes or ideas would be welcome!!

I crave that gooey melted cheese that loves my butt!!

HELP!!

What is the cheese story?? Can I have just a cheese pizza once in awhile?? Say, once a month?? (I have heard that cheese loves the butt and thighs!! True or not true??)

I am not a fanatic dieter!! I just decided that things got out of hand...(or rather out of my jeans)!! I am back in those jeans, BTW! But, decided to lose like 5-10 more...

What the hell, I may as well really look good for my guy...much as I hate macho butter! I realize he will hang with me anyway...(trained...it is the only way to have them!! j/k! LOL!!) But, like we are having so much fun...since the weight loss...I thought, hmmm, if I really work at it...I could do a bit better, eh??!!

I lift weights 2-3 times a week. (My fave exercise!) I try to do aerobics 3 times a week also.

However, anything you know that could help would be welcome!

Thanks to all!
Love and Light!
Here's to a better,

Yes, pizza is definately fattening, as is cheese. To lose weight you've got to stay away from satuated fats and maybe cut down on your carbohydrates. This is stuff like cheese, oil (like that chips are cooked in) and pasta. The carbohydrates aren't so bad but the fats are.

When i wanna lose weight (not that im that worried about it) i eat lots of salads, lean meats (fish, chicken and red meat if you like) and steamed rice.

These are some of the following of what i do:

1. Breakfast might consist of muesili and skinny milk (no sugar) with fruit peices and yoghurt or just muesili and then a peice of fruit or fresh squeezed juice afterwards. If you eat a good breakfast, you are less likely to binge on junk food during the day because your body is getting a slow release and constant release of energy. Raw nuts are better than fast food snacks as they release energy slowly also.

2. Lunch i would make a salad. You can put anything in. Sometimes i put in rice or a three bean mix just to bulk it up a little. I use dressing. Use low fat or virgin olive oil, garlic, mustard, tamari sauce (like soy but the japanese version), maybe some honey, lemon juice, just whatever you like as long as long as it doesnt have a creamy base. I usually just use virgin o/o, lemon juice and tamari. Its quick, easy and it tastes nice. Sometimes i use raw vegies in my salads, they are yum and you get so many vitamins from them. You can eat large amounts of salad, if there's no fat in it it won't be fattening. If taking to work, make salad, keep dressing seperate and sprinkle on later so salad doesnt go soggy. Sometimes i used tinned tuna also to add spice, just depends on preference, not sure how fattening it is though.

3. Dinner would be steamed rice, steamed vegies and tamari sauce (soy if no tamari), a lightly tossed stir fry of vegies (in a pince of olive oil) with garlic, tofu, ginger, rice and tamari. Also good is grilled meat, fish or chicken of any kind although i tend to stick with fish and steamed veg. If you want sweets, i usually have strawberries and low fat yogurt or fruit salad.

Quick recipe for steamed fish:

1 fish fillet (anything is fine, as long as you like the taste).
corriander
dill (or any herbs really)
clove of garlic crushed
fresh ginger
juice of half lemon
tamari sauce

Marinate fish in all of the above for as long as you like. Place a sheet of foil in baking dish, put in fish and liquids, wrap up and seal and bake for about 20-25 mins. This steams the fish. While you are doing this you can steam some vegies. Remove baking tray, place fish over vegies and pour over all liquid. Its a quick and completely fat free way to eat a delicious meal. Once you have the jist of steaming fish in the oven, you can invent all sorts of combos. I usually use whatever i have in the fridge at the time.

These are just some ideas. I have gone through stages where ive been sick of fatty food and have eaten like this. I have lost weight from it. Just cut out the fatty stuff like butter, margarine, beer, batter, dough, fatty meat, sweets etc... Once you start eating like this you will probably really love it. You can come up with all sorts of combos.

I think its ok to have a treat once in a while though. Just make your prime way of eating healthy and have a treat once or twice a month.

Tamari sauce is like the japanese version of soy sauce. If you cant find it, just use soy sauce. They taste pretty much the same. I use these things because they add flavour.

Good luck, the fish dish is nice. Have it with steamed vegies and as i said, use your imagination. You'll feel really good after eating it.

A few years ago, i went on a liver cleansing diet and ate raw salads for two weeks. I felt so good, lost weight (although that wasnt my intention) and my eyes were really clear. Im a bit on and off with my diet these days. Basically i eat as i please and if i feel the need to cleanse, i take it easy for a few days. Juices are good. I dont try to deny myself too much, i just try not to eat too much of anything.

Libra Girl,

I use to live out in the mountains and I didnt get to town except maybe once a month. I lived on the diet you described. The fish was Salmon that were gigged out of the river, and the meat was venision which is very lean!! I dont think there was a time I ever felt healthier.

Thanks for all the info!

Tamari I always use! I know you can get it health food stores. Good stuff! You are the first person I have run into that knew what Tamari was, cool! Most people never heard of it!

I am a big dieter. I am constantly on diets to mantain my weight. Try to eat lean meats like turkey breast, chicken breast in like the fat free lunch meat style . Pickles contain no calories or no fat. Very good snack or to eat with turkey. Fruit like blueberries and fat free whip cream. Try to eat soups for a week , saves a lot of calories. Or like atkins diets, eat a high fat meat like steak with a salad and stay away from breads and deserts. My favorite diet is the cabbage soup diet , I lost 6 lbs in 1 week. Its cabbage in tomato juice with onions and bullion cubes and pepper. I ate it an etire week. They only food I ate! It worked pretty well. I try to eat alot of vegtables and fruits. I like apples with peanut butter. Always try to exercise whether walking or what. I do squats while I wait on things in microwave and while watching television use a 5lb dumbell and work out my arms.Just simple things add up to have a lean and healthy body.Good luck,
