Casual Gamers

Some part of me doesn't like them. I feel like they're responsible for some of the major downfalls of the gaming industry. Sony may have started casual gaming but Nintendo is continuing it. definition of Casual gamer- Plays on one console, treat gaming as something fun to do rather than a hobby or sport, play some of the most absurd and stupid titles on any system, mainly console players, game playlist mainly consists of Grand theft auto, stupid ea sports games, racing games, call of duty, dumb shit like that. Vastly inferior to the Hardcore gamers who treat video gaming as a sport and a tradition. They also play most post 2005 titles and think games like- Final Fantasy, Persona, Fallout, Blazblue, Street Fighter, Syndicate, Ace Combat, Battlefield, Deus Ex, and so on so forth are terrible games but only because they've never played them or they were quick to judge by the cover. I don't hate them; I just look down upon them as someone that should really broaden their horizons and play something different. Thoughts?

BTW- Word of note. They prefer simplicity over complexity.

When you say, "downfall" I'm assuming you are referring to the quality of games that are being pushed out?

I honestly don't think that casual gamers deserve the amount of resentment core gamers seem to hold for them. I believe that because of casual gamers we're seeing more new companies and people enter the business. Sure some of it isn't very inspiring but thats because these new developers have just started.

I don't quite like it when people moan about the companies that used to be—as if the people who made the company breathe disappeared too. It is very likely that most of them went of to join other existing companies or form new ones of their own.

Now, if you want to see a real downfall in the gaming industry you only need to look at Japan. The people there are just so gung-ho about mobile gaming.

At this time I think there'll be a lot of stumbling but once in a while a true gem will come out. And I'm looking forward to them.

Oh yeah, I've noticed that about Japan. They're more focused on mobile gaming these days, I don't know why they are now. I remember when they were more focused on pc and playstation release titles but now they've changed. So yes Japan maybe to blame for this as well. Tbh, I don't really like or use ios it's too limiting and a lot of the games are subpar or just don't make sense.

Pre-view, they and Japan are the cause. I can choose to think so because I v=bleieve they're narrow minded and only choose the most absurd and "casual" titles. Casual in a sense they're vanilla. So shut yo fuck up and get back to your domain

Casual gaming meh!it okay but everyone taking the easy route. Mobile gaming is where its at. Its just like the arcades. Before they used to have thousands of arcades. Now they're becoming irrelevant due to the home consoles. Now i'm not saying the ps and pc becoming irrelevant but things change. Eventually and it will happen the casual games will overtake the hardcore in sales due to easier accessibility to games,short time it takes to make the game and the platform,android. But i prefer hardcore over casual anyday. Hey i still play ms pac man but i rather a challenge... DESTINY is the hardcore dream. Can't wait for mkx and DOOM

^^I see what you mean about Mobile gaming but as it has been said- Mobile gaming is becoming more popular than console gaming and pc gaming in Japan. And soon it's too breach American soil. I think it's alright to be a mobile gamer but then again it feels too casual to me as well because of the mobile systems limitations man. Android do play better mobile games than iOS devices though. But I appreciate mobile systems for portability.
