This study doesn't disprove psychological effects gaming and television may have on adults in fact I think they did mention the amount of exposure does relate to certain issues but it's expanding on the original study based from North American families.

Anyway just thought it was interesting seeing last year in Aus there was a big rally against having a strict classification system of videogames and much of the debate was regarding its effect on children.

A week or two ago we discussed violence and aggression associated with video games and tv. From what I can remember, there is no correlation between the amount of crime and violence between video games and tv. I'll have to go over the notes again, but I think that basically there are people who are more likely to be violent based on their own traits not because of media, but once again, the data in crime shows that there is no correlation (though you have to take into account that crime rates are dropping in general, so this is PART of the reason there is no overall correlation). I don't remember much though so as I said, I'll look again later.
I think violence and crime was important to look at too for this issue since many complain about video games being too violent. And tv too.

I just skimmed over the article but I think it was more focused on behavioral and psych issues in general? Anyway, I hope I'm not being completely repetitive.

Some say that TV/Games does not necessarily create a violent child.

However, I can tell you that feminizing children with an agenda that is TOTALLY AGAINST violence is creating a Justin Bieber/Twilight generation of geek-boys that have no physical strength or good guy mentality.

Today's pop culture machine is trying to neuter young men by making them into girls.

It is an agenda, and parents today would be wise to avoid it.

I was telling my students the other day that I feel like they totally missed out on the 80s generation of movies. Names like Carl Weathers, Rambo and Chuck Norris basically got blank stares whenever I asked about them in class.

Clearly gone are the days where the President would call Mr. T and Sylvester Stallone to save the hostages and give the terrorists/criminals their just desserts.

If you claim to be a man and have never seen films like Action Jackson, Rambo II, Predator, Invasion USA and the original A-Team show, then you truly have missed out on media that portray good men as they should be portrayed.
