Luz, I am no expert on the matter but as far as I know, cusps are not to do with ascendant risings or sun signs etc. A cusp occurs if, for example, you are born within a couple of days of another sign. E.G. virgo starts on Aug. 24th each year. If you were born on Aug. 23rd, you would still be a Leo but have a strong virgo cusp...and if you are a Virgo, you are still a virgo with a strong Leo cusp...cusp just means you will have some quite dominant traits of the sign just next to you. So virgos are ususally quite modest but if they have a Leo cusp, they might be quite flambuoyant and like to be centre of stage - more like the Leos are naturally. But you have to be born within a couple of days of another sun sign.....if you are born after that....you ain't got a cusp.
I know I am not explaining it very well - it's too early in the morning...the brain is not fully alive yet!!!
PAH....funny word that CUSP.

Well it says that cusp for mine runs along 19-23 and sometimes even 17-through whatever! o_O But I was born on the may 19 and it usually starts around 21? or 20 sometimes I see. So I really dont know. From my point of view, this might not even relate to BEING a sign. But when I read gemini stuff, I can relate to it more than I can with my taurus. But who knows really, because my rising sign is in Sag. Sag and Gemini are baically alike even if they are polar opposites so it's quite confusing.

yep, im on a cusp too. my situation is kinda confusing to me also.

im one degree into cancer, which gives me alot of gemini traits, but my saturn is in gemini which makes me doubt the things that might come out of my mouth. compound this with virgo rising and people i dont know well will not see that side of me. i really do like to talk though, i find that in large groups i dont do very well. if i dont think anyone is listening i wont open my mouth. people used to tell my brother in school how quiet i was......he would tell them that they wouldnt think that if they lived with me.lol

i find it much easier to open up in smaller groups.

saturn is your planet of difficulty
here is an explaination of what having saturn in gemini can mean.
(Skye Alexander)

In some way, you are likely to experience difficulties in the area of communication. Perhaps your early education was restricted or inadequate, interfered with by poverty, childhood illness, poor schools, family troubles, etc.. Or, maybe a learning disability, speech defect or other problem caused you to get a slow start and you had to work hard to catch up later. You might have had to teach yourself everything you know, mostly through trial and error.

As a result, you feel inferior in terms of your intellect, education or communication skills; and you probably are quite sensitive about this. Because you believed you were deficient in these areas, you may have put forth Herculean effort to improve yourself, so that now you are more than adequate. However, it is also possible that early impediments to your intellectual and verbal development caused you to fear and dislike learning, so that as an adult you still find yourself mentally blocked. This does not mean that you are stupid or unable to learn, but rather that your negative attitude toward education and your fear of being inferior could be standing in your way.

Speaking before groups might be especially hard for you, and your writing style may be stilted and self-conscious. Your test in life, however, could be to learn to use your intellect and / or communication skills effectively. This might even mean that you work to improve communication systms, perhaps through deliverin mail, editing manuscripts or repairing telephones, office machines or computers. If you neglect your mental development or misue your powers of communication, however, you will have to pay the price.

Your mind works in a logical, orderly fashion, and you are good at planning, organizing, analyzing, researching and retaining information. It is quite likely that your powers of concentration and your memory are also good. A practical thinker, you want to be able to apply what you know so that it produces tangible results. You have common sense, a head for business, and the ability to focus intently on facts, figures, and technical data. Whether writing or speaking, you get to the point and don't waste words; and you rarely speak unless you have something to say.

Because Gemini is associated with your immediate environment and travel near your home, you might experience frequent delays, frustrations and difficulties driving or taking public transportation in and around your community. Neighbors and / or siblings, too, could present problems for you; and you may find it hard to communicate with them. Finally, Gemini's connection with the hands could indicate restrictions or tests related to your hands and, perhaps, a need to develop good manual dexterity.

I cusp you , many many time 's you loner. Really why don't you forget the sign butter and work on becoming a social animal. Start just going to where there is a lot of people, Hang out there slowly start working on meeting people and then start taking part in the conversations. If you go slow you may find you will end up a important part of the group. But hay what do I know no one ever notices me.

Saturn in Leo
Saturn in the sign of Leo tries to put boundaries on the ego. But the Sun (ruler of Leo) will shine even though confined by Saturn?s restrictions. Saturn confers leadership qualities here and a sober sense of responsibility and duty. People with saturn in Leo uphold tradition. The Karmic lesson here is to surrender the ego to the greater good.

thats another way of saying the same thing as the other one i guess.

Greetings Cj7, I apologize for the delay. I assure you I haven't forgotten you and this post 🙂 I think my Saturn is in Sagittarius.

I've also been reading up on 'constellations'

"Although we are use to our year beginning on January 1, it was only in the middle of the eighteenth century that it was decided that the year should begin then. Before then December 25 began the year, and after the Conquest of the Normans, March 25 became New Year's Day. It was this way until 1752. The first sign of the zodiac, Aries, was placed at the beginning of the year from the spring equinox, March 21."

Does this somehow affect astrology and the placement of the signs? It makes me question.

"The first thing that the would-be astrologer should do is discard the idea that all forms of astrology is superstition mingled with the paranormal which can only be understood by mystics steeped in occult lore. Today, some astrology is presented this way, but this is not true "traditional astrology". Did you know that Astrology was considered science in man's early history? And some still do,with good reason (you will find out why later). Also until just a short time ago it was considered the same as astronomy, an extension of it if you will, and uses the same tables as do the astronomer and the navigator.

The dates assigned to the signs of the zodiac are as follows, although different "astrologers" assign slightly different dates, the ones who use the constellations use significantly different dates. The table below gives the dates and the most usual variations of each sign. The approximate dates between which the sun appears in the constellation each year are shown. Neither the signs nor the constellations change places at exactly midnight sharp GMT on the dates given below, so at the beginning or end of each period you may see a variation of up to a day.

An individual born into the main portion of any of the periods below, can say with safety that they are a Gemini or a Leo, etc. But if your nativity took place on one of the borderline dates (know as a "cusp") you will need to know the exact time and latitude/longitude of the event to be certain which is your exact Sun sign (as it is called)."
