I've run across some sites that say that Geminis can be cool and aloof. My mother (and Aquarius) is convinced that being aloof is why I've never had a boyfriend. My own father (a Cancer) nicknamed me Miss Antisocial. But yet, I feel like I'm a social butterfly at work and with my friends.
What do all of you think about the aloofness thing? Why would people say that about Geminis?
''What do all of you think about the aloofness thing? Why would people say that about Geminis?''
Hey remember the Aries/Gemini Circus theory? 😉 I'll use it again...
Aries is not refered to as aloof because they completely immerse themselves in anything TEMPORARILY, so at the point in time, that's all they appear care about...so will react emotionally, actively, etc to the situation...
Gem will float at the top of everything TEMPORARILY - so not appearing completely involved in any particular thing at any point in time - but they are - in their minds (Aries is a physically and mentally active sign) as Gem's mentally active. So your outward mannerisms will not seem to portray commitment. You'll give non-committal/unemotive/analytical responses to situations as you're analysing aspects others are not so that's translated as aloof...
You portray in your own way but doesn't always fit with societal norms - aloof I think is just others trying to put Gems in a box when the reaction's not expected. This should not be a prob, you're being yourselves 🙂
Hey, you never had a boyfriend? mee too...I'm not a freak!
Ah. So I'm being normal for my sign. Not sure that makes me feel any better about being called Heartless. **chuckles** Ah well.
Nope. Never had a boyfriend. Never been on a date. The only kiss I've ever had was when I was 2 years old, and that was with the boy next door... who was also 2 years old.
Lately, I do feel like a freak because of it. I mean, how many people over the age of 30 have never been on even one date? I'm dying to know what it's like to kiss someone.
To make matters worse, the only one I'm attracted to is is my boss. (Not just my boss... He's everyone's boss at my division.) I love the way he looks, the way he smiles and laughs, and the sound of his voice when he talks quietly to me whenever we're alone in the hallway or the kitchen area. He has such gorgeous piercing gray eyes. And I love the way he smells. He doesn't wear cologne, but his faint personal scent is.... **insert lustful growl here** And whenever he's within arm's reach, all I want to do is reach out and touch his cheek gently and kiss his lips. And he's so adorable when he's intent on winning a playful argument with me.
Yeah, do I know how to pick 'em, or what? **sighs ruefully**
**laughs** My way with words is what first caught his attention, too. These days, he has me writing his newsletter and occasionally ghost writing his correspondence for him. (I find this a bit odd, seeing as he has an executive assistant whose job is supposed to be to "assist the executive.")
He's so charming, fun, compassionate, and intelligent. And he looks fabulous in a leather jacket.
I love everything about him. Except.... I have I mentioned he's 21 years older than me? (Or that my father is only two years older than him? But he looks and acts so much *younger* than my Dad.)
Company policy make him a gigantic No-No. He also has a girlfriend. Not sure how serious he is about her, though, because he's always flirting with me, and he's only barely mentioned the girlfriend twice in the past six months as "we" (and it's a barely audible "we," at that) and he never brings her to company functions/events.
I'm leaving the company next year, so who knows? Maybe he'll decide he likes me better than his girlfriend and will want me to be in his life, even though I no longer work for him.
I can wish, anyway. (And while I'm at it, can I have my own unicorn?)
Well then, sounds like you have a long term plan 😉
''I find this a bit odd, seeing as he has an executive assistant whose job is supposed to be to "assist the executive.")'' as long as it doesn't bother you; plus you get to spend so much time with your love , eh... 😉 sorry couldn't resist!
Yea I'm chasing a unicorn right now - lil buggers - now you see them now you dont 😢
Spending time with him is always a good thing. The only problem was that, when he was explaining to me what he wanted on one letter, all I could focus on was his forearm, because it was about a foot away from my face and it smelled really good. (I was sitting at the visitor side of his desk, and he was standing immediately to my left, pointing at paragraphs on the paper on his desk.)
No need to apologize. When I started listening to Lionel Richie songs over and over again on Napster, I realized that I had kinda-sorta fallen in love.
Tips on catching a unicorn? Be your best self. Be virtuous, be noble, feel beautiful inside and out, be fierce, be loyal, be patient, be trusting and be confident. And allow the unicorn to be free.
This Tamagotchi toy has a family of pets. They're the Karma family. (I was trying to think of a five-letter word, and that was the first one I came up with.) The names the toy gives the pets are Mamekatchi (a boy), Chamametchi (also a boy), and Korokotchi (a girl). I got it on clearance at Walmart when I was buying a bunch of toys for our Toys For Tots drive. (I know it's not for a couple months, but the toys were on clearance, so they were being sold at really good prices.)

Please stop, you're gonna make me fight you for your boss now, you know!

Huh?! I just want a cute horsey pet to put my ram horns on...seeing how I'm not Mother Theresa, I'll get me a Tamagotchi instead.
But boy, you're far gone 😉 Why can't you leave the company sooner and chase the life out of his fine ass? Oh yea, he has a gf... 😢
**laughs** I saw him first, lady! (But if he were to choose you over me, I'd gladly still have him back when you're done with him.)
Oh! I thought you meant you were chasing some person you associated with a unicorn. You meant the real mythological beastie. Hell, that's MUCH easier to catch. Just throw on a pretty dress, tromp out into some virgin forest, pick a tree and sit. Sooner or later, a unicorn is likely to drop by to put its head in your lap.
I'd leave sooner, but our company's hurting right now, if I leave right now, he'd be hurt and upset that I'm leaving him in the lurch, professionally speaking. And it's not just him. I love the two other people I work with (an Aquarius and a Libra). We work well together and we rely on each other for a lot of things. Now's not a good time to leave them to find a replacement for me. Early spring would work better, if not sometime next summer.
''But if he were to choose you over me, I'd gladly still have him back when you're done with him.''
I love mutable signs - muah! I love Jennie-lynne's boss too! hang on - let's do some maths - he's got 27yrs on me 😢 Might have to let it go
Ok, I'll try the unicorn tips...
''our company's hurting right now'' - seems like it's going around lately - mine too ...might as well hang on as unemployment rate's on the rise...what do you do if you don't mind my nosiness? *pats tip of nose*
**chuckles** You can still love him from afar, just like I do.
**nod-nod** I hear you. I've done the unemployment thing in the past. It's a highly overrated profession.
I'm a marketing coordinator for a foodservice company. I get to make slide show presentations, posters, brochures, booklets, and newsletters. My two marketing cohorts and I also organize food shows, sales meetings, customer visits and community events.
Sorry it took a few days to get back to you. We have a sales meeting this Friday, so this week's been super-busy.
Unemployment is an overrated profession - indeed - lmao
