Question about gems

I am curious about you guys, i know you are social butterflies, but how can someone be truly friends with you ? How do you give someone that time and occasion ?

Not a Gem, but from what I have seen, they can make friends very easily. But, to get to know them, you need to be a good friend and be there for some time.

Being honest and being there for them is more than enough.

Yeah I've seen this as well. They are always surrounded by people but yet feel alone.

My gem bf told me once that he has no friends. I pointed out the fact that he does, we have partied with them, gone on weekend trips, etc. But he told me that he feels like it won't last and he'll be standing on his own.

It's weird, one day I'll feel like I have a lot of friends, but really I only have 2 best friends. And luckily for me, they give me my space and don't expect to hear from me every day because I'm really bad with that and can be a pain in the ass with getting back to people in a timely manner, lol. We can pick up right where we left off and no hard feelings. One is a Pisces, the other is a Gem. Another very close friend is a Scorpio and I get along with them all really well in different ways.

As for the social butterfly thing, I think I am just ok at being really friendly and not intimidating so it's easy to talk to people and for them to talk to me, but I don't consider most of them true friends. Like work friends or friends of friends and all of that 🙂 Sometimes in really shy though too. Depends on the day I guess.

I see, i agree that true friends give you space and and start back from where we stopped. I am a lot like that too.

I'm a loner, but I think that's due to all my Scorp influence. I do not really need many friends, No. Having a few that I can enjoy the company of and count on is more than enough for me. Most of my female friends mirrored and copied me, it was like this almost my entire life. I strive to be different and it really bothered me to have all my friends try to mirror image me all the time so i eventually just let them drift away. And as I grew older I found that many people I was spending time with were immature or acted in ways that I did not like so I put distance there. I also really value my down time. I like a quiet lifestyle, I do not like to entertain all that much or be surrounded by people. I am often misunderstood, but that doesn't bother me too much.

I am a loner too, the only time I am surrounded with people is when I am at work or on a vacation. Else, even on those days, I'm not supposed to be at work, I'll stay home doing readings, watching movies or just lazing at my mom's place with the kids.

It's always good to spend your time alone. 🙂

They are not mysterious, unless they have a Scorpio rising or heavy Scorpio placement. They have a tender heart too and love their independence, just like the other air signs. Although they many not show it to just about everyone.

What is a "true-friend" to you?

Someone who would know a lot of personal things about me, who would have met my family, who i would crush into If i ever feel down or am in trouble and who i would do a lot for. Someone with who things never change no matter the distance between us or the time we havent seen each other. You know some kind of strong connection. I have this with only one person

I have two best friends who I interact with almost on a weekly basis. They are always there for me and vice versa.

When at work, I can interact with anyone and be a natural at initiating a conversation or adding to one. I do enjoy being around people, but I have to be in the mood. I work in healthcare, so it's of those careers that you have to adjust your attitude at times when you feel like crap because in the end, it's about helping patients. I'm not big on attending business functions etc. and having to meet new people. I'm not into that "chit chat" BS. It's superficial and makes me very uncomfortable.

My husband and I just returned from a business trip in St. Pete Beach, FL. Every am and pm, we had to meet other company agents for breakfast and dinner. I found myself getting attached to a few people who I connected with and I felt comfortable with. Others OTOH, I stayed away from.
I just sensed that we'd have very little to discuss. My saving grace was that after these events, I could ditch the dress clothes and head to the beach.

I love spending time with my family (two 14 year old boys in sports etc) and my husband. Also spending quality time with my two dogs, a black lab and a boxer/lab mix. They know how to ease my tensions and make me laugh.

I do thoroughly enjoy time to myself every day. There are times when I don't want to be around anyone. I like to read, turn on my stereo and get things done in my home that others just let go unnoticed.

I think the Gemini in me gives me that ability to communicate and be an engaging person when i need to be. But I'm convinced my Virgo Rising is what keeps me grounded and also makes me feel uncomfortable in settings that I "have" to attend rather than chose to.

I think that's the true meaning of friendship. I think if you have that with them, they're in it for life just like you, and really love you and it's so easy to love them back. I may be a Gemini, but I love stability and my real friends and family who always stick by me. And I'll always stand by them. It's all about authenticity. That means everything.

Agree 100% All about authenticity. I feel like i don't have many friends either, like real friends. I know a lot of people but i do not consider them all friends...only those i can trust and have a good time with no drama.

Yep, totally agree! Have many many acquantances, but only a few I truly let it, the ones that I will let in on my dark days...everyone else sees the happy, strong version and nothing else. Trust and loyalty, ability to pick back up no matter how long it's been...those are the good ones and it take years to develop those friendships.

Agreed, does take sometime for us to open up and trust people as our true friends. I start people on a clean slate. If they give me reasons not to trust them i cut them off. No point in fake friends. Although people like to say Geminis are fake..no we are not.. We actually are pretty blunt and admire authenticity. If we seem fake it's probably because we don't feel comfortable enough to open up to you..
