New ignore/block feature

Duncan, this experiment is turning into a big piss party - pardon my speech. We have folks just blocking people so that they can talk about them with no recourse, we have others posting posts and going on about why someone blocked them and they can't post on the thread. It's ridiculous and childish on their part, YES! But, prior, DXP life went on as normal and we didn't have as much drama as is ensuing now. These are precisely the reasons I never advocated for and was strongly against such a feature!

Never mind...I withdraw the well done and thank you since this feature still seems to be in place.

It is amusing the way people will squirm, evade and backpedal when they are busted for blocking someone so I guess something good comes out of it.

There are days, like today after reading some threads, I really wish we had a "smite" button.

I like this thread block to people on the ignore lists. Why not? If they really have something they want to say, they can create a brand new thread under their name to say it. This feature also helps prevent abusive posts at least to the discretion of the thread creator.

Yes! For an extra 3.5 quid/bux or so Shaboom could include it in the dxpnet Gold Membership package. We could have little gold stars and planets next to our usernames. 😄😛

I've been blocked 🙂 I thought america was the land of free speech, apparantely not! The sad thing is the "blocker" is in the process of throwing herself yet again under the wheels of another man and the only responses she's getting is the usual "give him time" "his mars squares whatever planet makes him like this" "blame it on his sunsign" rubbish that will encourage her to make her chase a non-existent relationship, yet again. The blocking feature is ridiculous.

It should be included in a Platinum membership package. Which should only available to users who've been around for a certain number of years and thus "served their time" on DXP, not just any old punk newbie who hath not been properly initiated.
