Can someone help RE Leos?

Hi,

I'm a Cappy and have only known one Leo well -- my great aunt, who had a VERY strong personality. While I loved her, she was not one of my favorite people. I had a Leo friend -- acquaintance, really, since it didn't last long enough to evolve to friendship -- who was very bright and educated but so full of herself she drove me crazy.

Anyway, recently I had my chart done. A friend who is an amateur astrologer looked at it and said that I should try to emulate the good things about Leos and also have them around me. So, I started reading on the Net and in the books I have about Leos.

Everything I read says that Leos are flamboyant, dramatic, the center of attention and must be center stage. This probably explains why I don't like them, LOL. There probably isn't a room large enough to hold both egos.

Can you guys please list for me the POSITIVE Leo traits? Also, any advice on getting along with a Leo (short of telling them how great they are, which I will not do!) would be appreciated.

I'm curious. Why did this amateur tell you to try and emulate good things about Leos? The notion in and of itself is silly. Take my advice. Go out and be a perfect person. Go out and emulate all the good things of every sign of the zodiac. It's neither here nor there . . .I don't know. What's wrong with just being who you are? If you believe there is something about yourself you need to change, work through yourself to change it. You don't necessarily have to emulate anyone.

To answer your question, supposedly it has something to do with past lives and lessons that need to be learned in this lifetime -- or something, I honestly can't remember exactly what she said!! We are in e-mail contact. I will ask her and report back.

I ventured into this board today and read your post. Well you ask that amateur astrologist as to what she thinks are the good qualities of Leo? The books. Let me tell you when it comes ot the bookish knowledge about certain signs like Leo,Scorpio & Aries, the knowledge can be very misleading. These sign's are highly sensationalised & dramatised. an i mage has vbeen built up where scorps have to be enigmatic, Aries have to be Hot & Leos have ot be dramatic. Somewhere else, I htink in the Virgo messageboard I have mentioned that the influence of sun sign on an individual is not the deciding factor of their personality, it is just a part of the tip of the iceberg. I say I have met scorps who are dramatic, Leos who are enigmatic & Aries who are as cool as cucumber.
My ex-husband is a leo. So I will jsut tell you his good qualities. Great Organiser, ardent romantic, emotionally attached to family, good business sense, hardworking, can fix car furniture & electricals, very playful(how you take it depends on your temperament, they maynot be refined at that), has his head on his shoulders. Now what did you say you have read about Leos? Flamboyant, need to be centre of attention? see how those books have misrepresented the leo traits. My father is a leo too. He is a show off but keeps himself busy fixing thigs round the house and has strong sense of justice. He couldn't be a bit bothered about how much attention he is getting.
AAh Yes I have a Leo Moon with cancer sun. I love attention. Loads of it. I may throw shoes up in the air and dance the whole night away. Sometimes get high just to see the reaction of people around. And pull a long face when i have not been effective in my plans! then my Leo ex-hubby(I get fancy free when he escorts me) appears and says all the righ thtings which makes my evening successful. Well there you go.

I wasn't attacking Leos (laughing), it sounded more hostile than I intended. No Cats were harmed in the making of that post. Not intentionally anyway. I may have been having a bad day, I don't remember.

To be clear, every sign has good qualities, I was just saying, I don't see the point in emulating a particular sign. We all have weaknesses, it's just a matter of being honest with yourself to recognize them and if necessary mitigate them with conscious intent. If you know you have a tendency to act a certain way, be aware of it. Work against the grain to change it. That's all I meant.

I agree with VirgoSquared that you should not emulate anybody or any sign you should be your indivual self.. good point VS..

Try to look at the horoscope as a whole.. Moon Signs Ascendant Signs and the predominace of planets in a particular house, planets in a particular sign, these charateristics will help to determine the whole personality.

virgomajick = sun in virgo(the will-what i am trying to be) moon in gemini( the soul-what i have been in many other lifetimes) aqarius ascendant (the mask i wear in the outer world) think of it in 3 terms to better understand oneself. That is just scratching the tip of the iceberg in astrology heh. I could go on heh
