I think it's a little like this: lots of women don't want to wonder if the log has been delivered to the beaver, they want to feel that treetrunk break through the dam. Power exchange gives the person hogging the chains, ropes, cuffs etc the chance to wait feverishly in delicious anticipation for that invasion... over and over again. It's not drama per se.

But that's just the physical side. Mentally and emotionally, this thing gets addicting - like a drug to the mind. And for someone who's been a bit wild before, no drug compares.

What I find somewhat interesting is that it seems as though the S&M type of... experience can create a captor/hero dualism where the sadist punishes the masochist who cries for mercy and then can turn around and be the one saving them from the pain with pleasure. (I'm sure it all depends on their personal style of course, some may just abuse basically the whole time)
But it's almost as if there is a deeper connection and respect maybe even reverence from the masochist for the sadist after they hault the beating and beaver cram them in a more romantic way. I think because the pounding sorta straitens up a snotty attitude, so in a ways, as violent as some more conservative people may see it, it could be healthier for some relationships.
I know nothing, that's just a guesstimation. Unless, of course, you hold the view that maybe the abuse causes a sort of resentment but I think if the two engaging in it are lovers, that's probably not the case. However, idk, are S&Mers more about doing it with strangers or closer acquaintances? Or is it merely about the naughty factor? Like getting off with your boss or something...

What you're describing here is the family friendly version of sub/dom. There is no true loss of control here for the submissive party, which pretty much contradicts the whole point of engaging in such a relationship. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. I mean in certain paragraphs it seems that the submissive party has more power than the dominator/-ix. And that's just not right....
