Hi I'm a newcomer to these forums. I would love to give my perspective and answer your question.

For me there must be qualities that separate her from the rest, after all I want that someone to be my queen. I've grown tired of dating someone who might be compatible, only to discover there's a part of them which I don't find healthy for a long term relationship. I've stayed with my current partner for 2 years and plan to stay with her indefinitely because: She's very spiritual (I now treat astrology with a serious attitude because of her); She is very intelligent. I feel happy knowing I can talk to her about philosophy; Advocates feminism; Supports animal rights; Cooks amazing food and teaches me how to cook; Lets me act like a textbook Leo; Loves a lot of hobbies that are considered geeky; Oh and she listens to me when I'm angry and need someone to talk to.

I guess the short answer is a passionate and intelligent woman will ignite my fire every time.

Hi Fancycat!
I had to read your post twice to make sure you weren't MY Leo guy! Let me explain.
My Leo ''friend'' and I met about 4 months ago and immediately 'clicked'. We have both just become Vegan and I invited him to join my Animal Rights Group. We live near each other and work in the same place but not closely, we only see each other when he's on certain shifts. We share an interest in Buddhism, Spirituality, Philosophy, Art, Music..the list goes on. I am a Libran and older than him, but we are so similar, we end each other's sentences often. Now, from my perspective, I find him utterly damn attractive on every single level. My feelings for him have grown so strong through getting to know him and he tells me all the time how much he appreciates me and how happy I make him. We are not a couple, but I really so want to be.
He has been hurt in the past and tells me he's afraid of his emotions. He's even weirded out by sexual chemistry. He has no problem admitting any of this to me and trusts me a lot. he says he cant talk to anyone else like he can talk to me.
BUT. Every time we try and make a plan to meet up for a drink or whetever, something happens and he bails. We have only been out alone twice and both those times we had a great time, talking non-stop til late, hugs, lots of flirty eye contact and just lovely. He is my favourite person. He says he bails because he's disorganised but I don't believe that. There's something else going on.
You are the same age as him and you sound very very similar to him. Any ideas? I have asked him to please be honest about it, if he doesn't want to meet up, to tell me honestly but he assures me he does and he is always the one to initiate these plans! What the f.........?

The leo I've been talking to has me questioning his thoughts too. We are just talking and flirting, nothing more, nothing less. Though I can't deny....I WANT MORE! ;D It turns out that we will be in the same town visiting our families for easter this weekend, when we both discovered this he was suddenly very interested and began asking me questions to gauge how far away we will actually be from each other...and then no follow through, no mention of meeting up or anything. This man has me very confused, what gives?

MoonyEye! Yes, you are spot on. I actually messaged him this morning asking him to please be honest with me and he said exactly that. He has a lot of self esteem issues and feelings of low self esteem attached to his ex girlfriend. He said that he thinks I am so amazing and we have a rare connection that he doesn't want to ruin due to 'these feelings' he has that have surfaced through our conversations and him feeling that I want more, that's why he has pulled away...but he did this to his ex as well, so he realises that it's something he has to fix. I don't know if he will, but I really hope so. It must have taken him a lot of guts to admit this being a guy...and his trust in me is obviously something positive, so I will give him that space he needs. if he doesn't reciprocate and try for us on a romantic level, at least I have a good friend. It all happened really suddenly and fast for both of us and I am older and more experienced, so I have faced my demons. At least one of us has so maybe I can help him.
About your Leo, from what I know, they do love to be chased and made to feel wanted. Maybe he is waiting for you to initiate? Depending on how you feel about being the one who has to do a bit of chasing, maybe try it out, see how he responds?

Wednesdays Child! 😄 ! I'm a firm believer in the cold hard truth and your not kidding, it takes a lot of moxy for man to do that...such a sexy act too....kudos to him and you guys. He just needed love and encouragement! Don't really know you but my heart is kinda bursting for you lol. I was afraid you might say that about my leo. I've never been a chaser, and i don't wanna seem like "that girl."...ya know desperate, clingy etc. I guess I could initiate something this weekend...we'll see what happens. 😉

I understand what you mean totally, I went through the same dilemma, thinking why should I be the one to initiate meet ups, why should I, if he wants to why isn't he? And that I would look desperate! Obviously our Leos are different people and as it happens, mine needed that validation from me that I REALLY wanted him in my life for him to open up. Yeh, it hasn't landed me where I really want to be right now, but I am so glad I was honest and let him know what i want, so no regrets on my part!
Maybe you could say something like, 'i've got plans for this weekend, but I'd really like to see you.' in that way you're letting him know you're not desperate.
Good luck and let me know how it goes 🙂

Hello. I have a leo friend that i love dearly. All i can say is that they seems tough from the outside but they have huge insecurities. Especially if they are dumped by a gf before they would be very scared with commitment. However they are great providers, very generous and love to take care of the lady. You need to show them that you respect them, loyal and foremost you must be able to handle their anger. Dont take it personal when he gets angry because if u do he will unlikely to share his fear and insecurities with you. One more thing is that they really dislike nagging women.

I agree with you whole heartedly Enfant, It is 2016 anyone should be able to initiate anything. The guys at my job always throw girls under the bus for initiating first. It's like "hey she cared enough about me to text me hello, how can i tuck this in my back pocket for a good ego stroke at her expense later." It's immature and I wish I understood it because It's not like were 12, they are 28-31 years old.

Thanks for that, Tahva. My Leo 'friend' is astounded by the compliments I give him (I am genuine about them, I really do adore him and think he's an amazing person). I thought initially that I was sounding ridiculous, but then he admitted he is very insecure about himself in general. So I keep doing it every time he tells me he feels like a jerk or whatever, I reassure. It's easy because I have so many wonderful feelings for him. He is equally complimentary of me as well and makes me feel great about myself. I told him I want more than friends, but sadly, our ;'friendship' has brought up some deeper insecurities about his ex, so he doesn't want romance or intimacy. Any way I can help him? We'd be so good together, he knows it too, but there are too many barriers for him to push through, the fear is too great. I know he has to do the work on himself, but I want to be here for him. Tahva, should I just carry on doing what I'm doing?

Lmao a few days ago when I read this, I thought the exact same thing. All of it. Then the length of the relationship and making it indefinite... I was like "BEEB IS THAT YOU?!" -sits up right, fingers clasped. best behavior-

I'm very sorry I couldn't reply sooner. I've had a stressful week. I'm in my final year in nursing school, I've survived the mid-semester exam period (thank you coffee).

I can see why you could believe I am your Leo friend. It's interesting to see how similar I am in some ways and yet I am not. I have been vegan for about 2 years now. I adopted the lifestyle because of my partner's boundaries (at first) but became more passionate for the lifestyle and have found my own motivation.

I wish I had a simple answer for you. Sometimes a Leo loves subtle hints, other times a Leo will want to see your inner thoughts spelled out for us. I'm not sure where you could begin in order to resolve this. I think finding a gentle way to approach this subject could be beneficial. From my perspective, it sounds like your friend really likes you. There are so many indications that something long term could develop. You could try asking him to talk to you about this. I think you can try asking him to talk about this in a sensitive manner.

Aw and here I thought I was a special snowflake. Seriously, it's good to know there are other people like me out there. I sometimes get a little depressed when I believe I am unique. Isolation is probably one of my top fears, and it fits a Leo's characteristics too!

Hi Fancycat, nice to hear back from you!
I still think you ARE a special snowflake. You and my Leo friend are really the most beautiful souls I have ever met! I know I haven't met you, but as I said, you sound so similar.
You said:'' I think finding a gentle way to approach this subject could be beneficial. From my perspective, it sounds like your friend really likes you. There are so many indications that something long term could develop. You could try asking him to talk to you about this. I think you can try asking him to talk about this in a sensitive manner.'' I did this a couple of weeks ago as he kept coming up with excuses to meet up with me. I could sense he was afraid of something and when he replied, he explained about his insecurities around me and the hurt he still feels from his ex and what happened between them. I am 10 years older than him and my friends have pointed out that he seems to always go quieter around me and that they think he's looking up at me as a wiser, more mature person because of my age/experience in our work place. I have tried to even out this imbalance, as it's unhealthy to put another person on a pedestal. I am only human and have insecurities and issues just as he does, but he still insists that he can't believe that of me.
So I have been giving him some space over the last week or so, not asking him out, but still being supportive and available for chats on social media. But on Thursday we saw each other unexpectedly at work (it's the school vacation but I was there for two days and he looks after the students in the residential home, so we bumped into each other). I was so happy because his response was to run up to me and hug me in front of all my colleagues. We talked and his attention was 100% on me even though he did take a second to say hi to the others when he remembered they were there LOL. We went out that evening with some of his colleagues and it ended up that me and him were talking to each other mostly and they were all like Oh you two get a room, etc. On Friday, the same. We are like magnets, straight into each other's arms and it's as though no one else exists. Of course his mate who he works with started teasing us, but he wasn't bothered and I just laughed....I went away this weekend (he didn't know I was going). and have just got home to find lots of messages on Facebook from him, How are you, where are you...? I think he's becoming the chaser now 🙂
