So, I wonder how do Leo men get convinced to do something (that is usually for their good) ..

I'll give you a few light situations..

1. I knew my Leo bf has been trying to quit smoking, and he knows I'd be really happy if he did quit it. Still he tries, but I dont want to nag him to quit, i know he can make it on his own, just thinking what would encourage him to do so..

2. I suggested that he joins the gym. I go regularly and thought he can release his stress from work, he did join and was excited about it, but hes starting as a doctor and got a busy schedule, hes only gone very few times... like 3-4 times during the past 6 months. I know he subscribed for a year! but i dont ask him anymore about it cause i know he is tired from work. He is still very stressed these days.

3. I try to ask him to spend a small vacation with me by the beach before summer ends. The first time we met was actually at the beach, he traveled 3 hrs to meet me (that still is something i appreciate so much) .. he really enjoyed it and now I ask him if he will get a small vacation from work? and he said this will be very hard... for me, i really want him to travel, I am there too and been staying here for sometime (working remotely) and i let him know im staying for 2 more weeks .. how do i suggest that it will make him feel less stressed? he really needs that but he doesnt do any hobbies to release that stress

how do i make my suggestions sound convincing to him?
To me, I get convinced when I see good for me in it, and when I'm informed a goid time before tge activity so that it lands in my head and then get used to the idea and feel like wanting to do it for real.. what about you LEOs??

Wow.

Personally, I would resent all the pressure, esp since you know

he's getting ready to go into practice.

I would avoid being around that kind of energy at all costs.

And quitting smoking isn't a 'light' issue.
so you think its better not to bring up any of these again?

I agree quitting smoking aint light. Actually it is a goal he set for some time now.. I meant the 2 others arent a big deal if he didnt do them..

I get what you're trying to do, but you are likely pressuring him. The best way to help him de-stress is for him to feel when he's around you, he can relax! Although your intentions are good, they are likely feeling like pressure and micro-managing to him!

Ok, my leo woman has a tendency to skip meals because she get bogged down and tunnel vision with work. Trying to nag her about needing to eat especially with her health issue when in one ear and out the other. She does what she wants to do. My solution was to suggest having lunch with her because I knew she wanted to spend more time with me, so to her, I was making an effort to spend more time with her, but in truth, I was creating a situation where she would eat like she needed to on a regular basis (and ofcourse spend time with her) 🙂

You need to be a person he sees with whom he can relax with. Something tells me though it is not your intention, you're causing him more stress.

He is trying to quit smoking. That's not an easy feat and you're just want it be over and done. That's not very supporting or understanding of you. Logic is not always a motivation to overcome habits.

Stop suggesting things for a LONG while and just be a person he can come to relax. REALLY start putting yourself in HIS shoes. Do you have any idea how demanding it is to start a practice? I don't, but I sure would find out so I could be supportive in the way my SO needs. He will likely take this as you being critical and impatient and that will irritate him greatly over time.

thanks for sharing.. lunch part is a great idea for you!

I'm not really talking to him about any of these but they are on my mind and I dont know if I should say anything.. thats why i was trying to find a way to talk about this without causing pressure.. but it seems like i'll just let it be..

another thing, I still wonder how do leos get convinced about an idea in general? i was just giving examples there..

Hmmm...I will tell you from MY point of view having to deal with a leo whose placement sun/moon/venus/mercury all in leo! I find gently suggesting things once or twice and leaving it up to them after that works best. My lioness always listens and considers what I say cause she trusts me like that. But pushing any more than a suggestion once or twice - well she tends to get her feathers all in a ruckus.

It seems to me Leos do their own thing! They don't like anyone telling them what to do and no matter how you try to *dress it up and make it come across nice*, any hint of you trying to tell them what to do will be immediately rejected! HaHa!

What they do/don't do is really their choice/decision. But, if they trust you they will tend to seek your opinion and that's your opened door to weigh in. That's when I gently suggest. Even if I can see something is beneficial, I have learned to let her figure it out own her own. Lioness is very communicative and expressive, so if she has something on her mind she wants to do, she usually openly shares it with me. That's the time to weigh in - when they bring it up. Overtime, she has been impressed with my calling it right, so she comes to me more often than not for my opinion. When they come to you for advice, that's a sign that they trust you.

But make no mistake, that's all she is seeking - my opinion. The moment that I try to persuade, push or convince, she becomes defensive and pushes back. So I gently suggest. That way, I don't become the object of that lovely roar they have once irritated! HaHa. They don't like being nagged or manipulated, so watch very careful how you proceed.I would suggest waiting until he comes to you for your advice or wait until he brings up the subject then gently weigh in your thoughts or opinions.

Case in point, she returned from out of the country yesterday. Now, I know with jet-lag a

...damn cutoff!

Case in point, she returned from out of the country yesterday. Now, I know with jet-lag and all, we probably should take today off and drive to the cabin on Monday. So I said, I was thinking about us leaving Monday for the drive up to the cabin. Her response, in Holiday traffic? No, I'll be ok. Let's go tomorrow. I said ok cause I know she will wake up this morning, realize how tired she is and not wanna unpack/pack. So she wakes this morning and says, maybe we should leave tomorrow. HaHa. See - she had to figure it out on her own.

Thanks! I hope what I said will be helpful. It will be nice to see the leos weigh in on your question about persuading them, cause gently suggesting is the only thing I have found that works so far! And that's after 5 yrs! HaHa!!!

She's back?

Whoopeeeee!!!

😄
Yep! and jet-lag like hell! She is sooo funny - don't want me to leave her side. Whenever I get up to do something, she's like...'where you going?'. Ofcourse, I'm all cheese about it! We've been two cuddle bugs! Love this woman. But I won't take up OP thread, talking about her - cause you know I could 😄
