Moon signs and other contradictions

Does anyone have any opinions/experience regarding the influence of moon signs? I've always thought they dominated in the sphere of emotions, though weren't as influential as sun signs. Recently however, I read somewhere that it's because society doesn't value emotions as much as it does other traits that they are given a back shelf position in terms of understanding a personality.

It would make a lot of sense to the 'I'm one sign and get along well with someone who I'm astrologically not inclined to' train of thought, since relationships are more about emotions than reasoning.

I'm a Gemini with a Leo moon and find I am loyal and passionate with no inclinations to cheat (contradictory to Gem's) in a relationship.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the subject?

You sound more like a Leo to me. Leo's are loyal types and don't like to cheat. But never say never. If things aren't working.... well, I think you have to move on. Whereas my experience with Gemini is that they are so attractive, funny, entertaining and all that good stuff leads me to know that they do cheat. But they are good at hiding it. They still manage to make you feel like number one until they are actually caught in the act. Geminis don't have a loyalty like a Lion. If a shinier new penny comes along a Gemini must investigate, whereas a Leo would appreciate and keep moving.

That's just a little take on it. I'm sure others could add more.

In my opinion, I do agree with the school of thought that society puts emotions on the back shelf; I think the reasoning behind this is that emotions are so difficult to understand, and vary so much from person to person (and from moment to moment within each person) that it would be very difficult to use them as the main aspect of judging the compatibility between people. Emotions are so changeable and obscure; much like trying to describe last night's incredible dream to another person, you know? My sun is in Scorpio and my moon is in Libra, and often find myself getting involved with Leos...strange huh? Well, if your theory is right about moon signs having a great deal of influence, my moon being in Libra might be one reason I seem to find myself with Leos. Maybe. If that makes sense.

ive been thinking about this topic lately. these are my opinions only of course but, im thinking that if you want to get an idea of the type of person someone is than your going to have to look at thier sun sign, ascendant, and thier moon sign. after looking at my own chart these are the ones that will give you more of an acurate picture of my personality. wouldnt those signs affect us the most. im a cancer with a virgo ascendant and a pisces moon. we all know ourselves pretty well and only after examining my chart did i realize that no, im definitly not just a cancer. you guys are pretty smart so i know this is nothing new to you but i thought i would chime in anyway.

maybe I should post a thread asking what everyones moon/rising is - it can provide a lot of insight into a person's personality.

Go to astrology.com, I think you will have a lot of fun there--just make sure you do all the free stuff! If I remember correctly, they do have a way to figure out your moon sign, rising sign (ascendant) etc...

thanks...i went and realized that i have a pisces moon and am a virgo rising...and i am a scorpio....anyone know about this combination?

thats pretty cool, im a cancer with the same moon and rising sign as u. hmm. your also a water sign so my guess is that you are a very emotional person. that pisces moon compounds an already emotional state. im very emotional but appear very cool, calm and nonemotional to most people i meet. im definitely a thinker, and a perfectionist. my head and heart are always at odds with each other. also very intense in love relationships.

I'm a scorpio with a Libra moon, Libra rising, Venus in Sagittarius, Mars in Virgo, and hmm...I can't remember the others. There are like 3 more Libra planets though.

I think the Mars in Virgo (being that Mars also has an influence on Scorpio) makes me rather perfectionistic. The Venus in sag makes me more flirty, and non-committal than most scorps in relationships, and all the Libra planets make me highly indecisive and more tactful than most scorps.

However, I'm balancing my dislike of you against the need to share information about myself with you and I really can't see any positives in letting you get to know me.

Cortica, what is it specifically that I said, that makes you dislike me? I am not above apologizing to you and radifying any statements I might have made if something I said bothered you, or was inaccurate, or hurt your feelings or whatever the case may be. I just want to know what I did and if I can fix it.

This is twinkee77, and I am a gemini with a virgo moon and leo rising. Anyone with opinions on this? Also, phoenix you are probably seem to be the nicest scorpio i have come across. I think my friend cortica is just not comfortable interacting with some scorpios(my good friend is one) because they can be very mean and critical.

First, thank you for the compliment...and yes, I know that there are definitely mean & critical scorps out there, even I have my moments, thought usually rather than going to the mean side I lean more towards criticism.

I wish Cortica wouldn't avoid answering me though. Oh well, I guess you can't please everyone all the time. 😛
